"I think the F150 is like 1600#'s..." 🙄 No, just like the Mav, depends on trim/option content. An F150 Limited can be as low as ~1200#'s, on up to a properly configured work truck with well over 2K.

All considered, wasn't squatting as bad as I expected. 🤠

Technically slightly overloaded, due to weight of driver as well, courtesy of BlakesCars2:

Congratulations on your new truck. BTW: To me it appears that the 8.5" screen is so dark that I could hardly even tell if it was turned on. Is it that dim in real life in bright conditions [such as sunlight through the windshield]? Does it appear any brighter in person???

Thanks for the video.

Honestly, there appears to be quite a bit of squat on this.

p.s. My payload sticker on my 2015 F150 XLT 302A is 2049#. I've had it loaded with a pallet of pellet's (2000#) and it did not squat anywhere like this. I've also had it full to the brim with firewood (many times).

Having said this, I'm not buying the Maverick for its payload/hauling, but it is good to see what it looks like at the limits.

p.p.s. show the door jam values, please.

Just for clarification, I put "courtesy of BlakesCars2" because this isn't my vehicle.

I still drive a Ram 1500 hemi. But even my Ram when I loaded it about this full with a pallet of pavers, OMG, it was practically scraping the exhausts too and that was on a much bigger truck. We drove home laughing going about 30mph knowing we were flirting with disaster! So the Maverick is plenty impressive! 😲

I think the only one that actually might do well when it comes to butt-scraping is the Santa Cruz because it has a self-leveling suspension, however, there is some controversy about what the true payload of the SC is. Some say its 1,750lbs in the lightest SE trim which is absolutely insanely good and others say its only 660lbs, possibly because that's how much the lid on the bed trunk can support which isn't at all impressive.

Ford Maverick Maverick payload capacity maxed out w/ 1500lbs in bed - test by owner 750bc187359924e66a3e3f7579a3947f

Not very helpful. A full 5+ minutes and never once do we see the door jam actual payload value.
We've all seen the payload stickers on this forum sir. Real world owner test is the acid test. Looks legit.

So you doubted it was 1500#?
No, I could look at the sticker for five minutes or see it done for five minutes. Either way, what's your beef?

Don't worry, that's just because the camera can't properly handle the range of brightness across the scene. In person the screen is far brighter and completely usable in broad daylight.

In rough terms a Maverick weighs about 3700lbs. So you figure 2 adults add maybe 400lbs, now you're at 4100lbs. The combined vehicle weight on most Mavericks is about 6000lbs, so that leaves you 1900 to split between the bed and a trailer.

I think you're correct that he was slightly overweight because a FX4 isn't rated at 1500# and of course you have to add the driver's weight too. However, how many people actually put any thought into actual weight of the load plus driver/passenger weight?! When I had my '08 F-150 adding stone to the yard, it was never a consideration on payload, it was one scoop of stone into the bed, wheels rubbing? No, proceed on! o_O 🤣 Nice to see a real life haul and how well Maverick handled it. I was impressed that he seemed to get up to speed rather quickly too. (y)👏👏

No that is not how bed load capacity is calculated.

The sticker in the driver door frame is the max bed load capacity WITHOUT anyone in the vehicle. You must subtract the driver's weight and the weight of anyone or anything else in the Cab.

From Maverick User Manual page 255

Payload is the combined weight of cargo and passengers that your vehicle is carrying. The maximum payload for your vehicle appears on the Tire and Loading label. The label is either on the B-pillar or the edge of the driver door.

Look for “The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed XXX kg or XXX lb” for maximum payload.

The payload listed on the Tire and Loading Information label is the maximum payload for your vehicle as built by the assembly plant. If you install any additional equipment on your vehicle, you must determine the new payload.

Subtract the weight of the equipment from the payload listed on the Tire and Loading label.
When towing, trailer tongue weight or king pin weight is also part of payload.
