I bought the Lariat w/4k tow and Fx4. I wanted all the bells and whistles. They are a nice convenience.
I never worry about resale value. I have driven every car I've owned into the ground. There is no resale. ;)

Funny that this thread popped up today when I was thinking about my Maverick being the first vehicle I ever ordered from the factory and getting the exact configuration I desired. In the past, I purchased Hondas that were on the lot and selected options by selecting a model that had what I wanted. No picking a model and then adding options. I got what I wanted, but it included some things I didn't want.

With the Maverick, there are so many ala carte selections available that it's hard to stock the lots with all the different possibilities. Despite the wait, it's been a fun experience. I'm not getting much that I don't desire except maybe those orange accents.

As long as you don't want any additional packages these are the differences:

I wanted 360 and it wasn't initially offered on the XL so went with XLT and then to a Lariat and back to a XLT. Agree the XLT is a lot more money for few options but it should have better resale value. If you compare the XLT to the Lariat there are even more options. It's all about personal choice not necessarily the money.
Value wise the XL is the winner but...................... :p.
Ron, I think someone gave you some bum poop. I have an EARLY XL, and its first option was the 360. Either a dumb salesman or one who guided you into a more expensive model.

I have a XLT - FX4 with AWD. It is equipped with Ford Co-Pilot, but not CP Assist that is part of the Lariat package, but not available on the XLT.

My question is, can CP Assist be added to the XLT using Forscan?

Nope because you don't have the radar unit. There is a guy in the forum that apparently retrofitted it to his XLT but I'd never take that chance adding adaptive cruise control, if it failed I'd think you would be big time liable.

Generally speaking, buying mid range anything affords you the best bang for the buck. I just had to have the XLT interior from the first day I saw it. For me, mind you, it just works and works great. Lots of compliments. Worst I've heard, "My, this is Different". :ROFLMAO:

I couldn’t buy a 2024 Lariat because of its awful seating. I ordered it with a BAP, but really didn’t want black seats. after Waiting many months and getting 3 “so sorry” notices they finally gave me a build week of Feb 12, only to get 3 reschedules. Now it is April 1. My dealer called me and said he got several XLT’s in with the options I wanted. The color was cactus gray and with the FX4 package with special black aluminum wheels, it looks great. Cam with AWD, cp360, XLT Lux, 4K tow. No mark up, so I went to look and bought it

Only 500 miles on it, and I am very pleased. BTW, I like the seats, blends in nicely

Nope, I'm not giving up my push-to-start button & keyless entry just to save a few bucks. After 50+ years in the workforce, I'm willing to pay for the creature comforts I want. The 11 months I spent with my '23 XLT were a PITA.

I agree except this XL is for my teen daughter that doesn’t care or know the difference. She has a key now and wired CarPlay.
