Nope. Not any more.

A few years ago I wanted a hot rod short truck so bad I could taste it, but that time has passed.

A random picture stolen from the internet to illustrate what I had been dreaming of.

The Maverick is a family (4 of us) vehicle for us, we were cross-shopping compact sedans when Ford announced they were coming out with a hybrid small pickup. A truck does have a lot of utility for our lifestyle, but we were primarily attracted to the pricepoint and efficiency. Zero interest in a single cab.

Anyone else thinking that with the Ranchero name being revived that Ford might just be calling a 2dr Mav a Ranchero?

Here's to hoping.

in Ford's terminology, the smaller extended cab is called a Super Cab and has 1/2 size rear doors that open backwards. That's what my F-150 has and seems the most useful without adding too much length overall. When Crew Cabs came out, they were aimed at work crews traveling together needing the extra seating and leg room. Then families that didn't want a mini van or Suburban size hauler discovered them and made them mainstream as cabin amenities got more car like and comfortable.
I have friend (hard to believe but ✅) that would pay MSRP +3k for super cab that would accept golf clubs!

Not a chance. Besides losing inside room, it's butt ugly

Not interested . like having extra door and seats . we sometimes meet up with camping buddies and nice to take only one vehicle when heading to trailhead or sights . it's also nice having extra indoor storage even though I have locking armor tonneau.

Would rather just have a folding Midgate like the Avalanche did. Have crew cab when you need it, but can fold down to have full size bed when you need to also

Oh, yes, I would definitely prefer a 2 door extended cab with a 6 foot bed. I don't need 4 seats, and like having the room behind the seats for storage in my Ranger. One of my biggest hesitations about the Mav is the cab and bed arrangement.

While I have gotten pretty used to having that back seat for all my kayak gear, and a place to put the groceries. I could see some fleet company use for a 2 door, auto parts delivery, serve pro, etc, etc.

I don't think so.
I’m sure several people agree with you. No need to quote me to let me know.
Just pointing that out. Seriously not being rude.
