Not me personally. I had a 2 door years ago and it was a pain in the ass because there was no place to put stuff if you had a passenger.

Seems to me that as a work truck the rear seat could be removed and replaced with a platform for putting boxes, tool cases etc. that you would want to lock up in the cab.

The younger me insisted on 2 doors + 6' beds that I started out with in the 1970's- and the introduction of the Datsun "King Cab" (1973 I think) only reinforced that as they were hideously ugly if marginally more useful. Still felt the same way when I bought my 1987 Ranger and later a 1993 Ranger. By 2000, the best deal I could find on a Ranger was a Supercab, and it wasn't horrible having the extra room inside. Got a 2006 Supercab "sport" model and it grew on me even more. By 2018 we had a need for a new Ranch truck with ability to haul heavier loads and trailers and we chose the F-150 Super Cab and it actually looks properly proportioned with 6.5 ft bed and we love it and like the extra room behind front seats- though we rarely carry passengers there. At this point I definitely prefer Supercabs and would buy that whenever available. Have no love for crew cabs and shorter beds, but I made an exception for the Maverick since it was only configuration offered and had so many other good things going for it. A Supercab + 6' bed would make it perfect.

Now if I can actually get mine built and delivered....

Given that I have a 2 door Ranger XLT in my driveway right now, and for the last 30 years, yea I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It has better visibility, a shorter turning circle, and gets 30 mpg with 30 year old engine tech. Seems I'm not the only one, because driving down the road I see a zillion old 2-door Rangers like mine. Storage space never bothers me. And it would bother me even less in a BEV Hobbit Truck where the whole front engine area becomes an F-150 Lightning style frunk (as much space as an SUV hatch).

A crew cab for someone like me simply means a fat bloated pig of a truck. That said, I get that a crew cab is a must have for a whole lot of people, so oh well.

Nope. Maybe, maybe an extended cab version if it was all I could get but not that. Gotta have some room for the groceries. LOL.

Never, I love the versatility of my car/truck combo. Almost everyone who chats with me about my Maverick makes the same comment: "What a versatile vehicle!"

Here's why: On Saturday we had a family picnic at the park. I was able to transport myself, wife, brother, sister in law and her sister, plus all of our gear (two coolers, a table, a bunch of chairs, bags of food, and assorted games - badminton, soccer, volleyball etc.) without any problem.

I loved the little sports trucks that GMC, Chevy, and Ford made. I owned an early S-10 4 speed, an '82 D-50 4 speed, three GMC Sonomas, 1996, 2001, and 2003, all 2 door, and two of them had the ZRX package with the ZQ8 lowered factory suspension. The last one, a 2003 ZRX was loaded with a moonroof, auto, 195 HP V6, soft tonneau cover, etc. The early S-10 was a work truck that I used to deliver electrical materials to job sites and it was a perfect truck for that purpose. The D-50 was a shop truck with a material/ladder rack and it was great for doing service calls and later a spare truck around the house. The '96 Sonoma was just a very underpowered 4 cylinder commuter truck which got good mpg. The last two were fun little trucks. The 5 speed in the 2001 was fun, even with the 4 cylinder, but the 2003 ZRX V-6 auto was the best. Even it was a little under powered.

Again, all were 2 door, and I think, all of them had around a 5.5' to 6.5' bed which worked ok. Since I'm a short guy, all of them had enough cab room for me. I've had antique furniture stacked high and they performed as they should. Shoot, I've even had a pallet of 12-2 Romex in the back of the D-50, and yeah it squatted a little.

All had room enough for a brief case behind the seat when I was going to work. For a personal truck, a 2 door is fine, but my wife will not let me buy a 2 door.

Course, I love my VB 2.0 EB Maverick XL. For me, it is perfect at this time of my life and it is sporty enough.

Not for me now that I have kids. If I was younger I definitely would have loved a 2dr but not with a family.

I would absolutely consider one. I currently have a standard cab S10. It's my 3rd one. Its definitely not a daily driver for me and neither would the Maverick if was a standard cab.

Truck manufacturers have determined 7 people want regular cabs. 4 want a rubber floor, 2 want a stick shift, and 1 wants all three.... 🤣
I'm almost that one. I am not a fan of rubber floor mats, but the rest of that list...100%
