Hi Folks,

I’m looking to buy the 2025 AWD Hybrid, but I’m hesitant about adding the 4K towing package.

I’m quite sure I’ll never need more than the standard 2,000-pound towing capacity versus the 4,000 pounds with the 4K package.

How does this impact resale value? Will it significantly affect the resale of the Maverick?

I’m also curious about the statistics—how many people actually add the 4K package on their AWD models? When I asked ChatGPT, it reported that only 9% to 12% do.

What do you think?

I added it. Hard question to answer, I am glad I got it just in case and it is honestly a pretty reasonable cost to add. I don’t tow much but we are planning to get a small fishing boat and didn’t want to sweat being right at capacity.

I took delivery of a special order Eruption Green Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid on 1/23/2025 the customer that originally ordered it did not include the 4K towing package, that really didn’t affect my decision being my intention is to flat tow this Maverick behind my RV and not planning to tow a trailer with it but if I do the 2K package will meet my needs since I also have a F-150 to do any heavy towing so I guess it boils down to your needs I don’t feel this will affect the resale to the point that I thought I had to have the 4K

I was in the same boat when I ordered mine. I opted for the fx4 package instead just because I don’t tow anything other than a lawnmower trailer maybe a handful of times a year. I also wanted a moonroof, it definitely can’t hurt to add it and would give you that option down the road if need be you’d be able to tow whatever you need especially since it is relatively inexpensive to add the option

You already asked ChatGPT so you have your answer.

The trailer towing package gives you a different final drive ratio (which will let you accelerate quicker but will slightly decrease fuel economy), a not-quite-full-size spare, additional cooling (especially good for transmissions), and maybe some other stuff I'm not remembering. It will certainly help with resale value. It's nice to know you have the capability.

for the $800 you get parts and features that cost more than that if you tried to add them on your own, plus some simply can't be done after it's built. so yes, it's worth it. you may be happy some day you have it, or you'll regret you didn't when you could.

It’s a better question to ask what is best for you. Screw the next guy who cares.
you would you add fake rack to your wife for your enjoyment or for the next fella?
If you don’t plan on towing don’t get it. Enjoy the better fuel mileage. If you plan to tow more often then add it.
I added mine cause I tow way above the maverick rating for long periods of time on hot days. I mainly got it for the larger radiator and trans cooler.
It was a very respectable priced option for my needs.

more like $1600 because you have to add 360 copilot with the 4k right?

I added it for the towing and for the way better cooling systems

I am going to take a wild guess and ChatGPT is wrong, I guarantee more than 9% to 12% added the 4k tow with the 2025 Hybrid. It's probably calculating ALL Maverick sales, with the 22-24 models included WITH the 2025's. Whether that be including the Ecoboosts or just the hybrids (which obviously would be %0 for 22-24 models) it would bring the average drastically down either way. Doesn't Ford release those stats on monthly build statements? I have a 3k pound camper and added it. You do have to add Copilot 1,0 but I'm loving that so far. Totally worth it.

If you're going to tow, just get the 4k tow package. Even if you're not going to tow 4k, it's going to make your drivetrain more robust for towing in general. And it gives you an extra safety margin when someone puts that extra 100 lbs on your trailer that's already at 1999 lbs. (I know it should be able to handle it anyway but why not increase your margins anyway).
