The dealership is trying to get you to really like the 150 so you will trade in your new mav for it. DO NOT DO IT, keep the MAVERICK
I'm not sure if you're joking, but no, there's nothing shady going on. I was initially given an Escape, but I specifically asked for a truck a few days ago because I needed to tow my trailer for a project this weekend.

Looking forward to returning it, though. This thing guzzles gas at nearly three times the rate of the Maverick, averaging at 17.5 L/100KM (13.4 MPG). Definitely ready to get back into something more fuel-efficient.

I recently bought a 2025 Maverick with a broken windshield. It was chipped during transit, and when they attempted a repair, the top of the glass cracked. I was told a replacement would be ordered and would be installed (free of charge, of course) as soon as it arrived. However, they warned it could take a while because they're having trouble finding the right replacement. No big deal, I thought. I can live with the minor blemish for a while.

A couple of weeks later, I get the call. The windshield is in. The dealership picks up my truck and removes the old windshield, but then there's a problem: They ordered the wrong part. Now, my truck is just sitting at the dealership with its front end exposed and no glass. Meanwhile, I’m stuck driving a loaner F-150, which is way too big for me, doesn’t fit in the parking garage at work, and burns through gas like it's going out of style.

It’s been a few days and they still haven't been able to find a replacement windshield, let alone place an order for one. I have no idea how long this is going to take, and it's just a really frustrating situation.

I don't really have a point here. I just needed to vent.
They don’t throw away the old windshield.
If it’s going to be a while, why not re-install the old one?
Maybe an hour’s labor, small bit of caulk/adhesive, to help out a customer?

The only concern I would have is make sure there have not been any changes to the camera(s) and sensors behind the rearview mirror (I don't think there have been any changes through the model years).
The cameras did change on the '25MY, and it looks like the cutout in the frit (the black enamel bonded to the glass) has a wider angle opening.

Sorry to hear that windshields are a problem to source.

I would suggest contacting your dealership to exchange your F150 loaner for something else.

They should have other smaller vehicles for you, but maybe thought that it is an upgrade for someone to get the full size behemoth.

Call, speak politely to the staff and explain your situation...I will bet 25 cents CAD that if they can help you out, they will. Usually works for me. (You know, honey not vinegar...too much vinegar in the world already).

I wish you good fortune in getting a replacement, even small suv would do!

I was joking, but the dealerships would always like people to upgrade. But I think Maverick to F-150 would be a downgrade, especially the price difference we would have to pay.
Love the Maverick always
