OleFordGuy, from your signiture it looks like you've had your truck just over a year now. Have you had a cracked windshield yet?
No crack so far. It did take 1 hit from something 3-4 months ago going down the interstate behind a semi, was quite loud, I was sure it would start cracking but luckily it did not leave a mark nor ever crack. No idea if that was pure luck or if that windshield is a little more resistant. I lean towards luck, but who knows.

I smell class action law suit!!! I have 3 surface chips already - only 6000 miles!!
We have ~9,600 miles on our Maverick. My wife has come home from work 3 of the last 5 times she's driven the Maverick with a new rock chip. Three rock chips in a matter of 2 weeks, thankfully none will become cracks.

Not much better with our Jetta, we've had to fully replace the windshield 3x in the last 1.5yrs and just got a new rock chip a few weeks ago. In my previous ~25yrs of driving I had never replaced a windshield and don't recall ever getting a crack. Looks like there is a reason Progressive charges an absurd amount for glass protection (it would increase our insurance premiums nearly 50%).

We had 2 broken on our cobalt. Almost a third, driving down highway we saw a rock coming 😲, hit just above the glass, dent. All 3 instances obviously Chevy's fault!

Over one year with the Maverick, I've had two or three rock hits, not all small ones. Glass has no cracks or damage. 🤷‍♂️ Just luck of the draw when it comes to cracks.

Every vehicle I've owned in the last 20 years got a cracked windshield, at least once, from rock hits at some point. I doubt it's because the window of the Maverick is soft or weak that people are having issues.

As a Lariat owner I can vouch for the fact this is a very quiet truck inside. I'm sure the windshield helps. I've had some high mileage vehicles +250K that had to have the windshield replaced due to a sandblast effect (The windshield was not cracked) which made it very difficult to see out of the windshield at night. My observation is in about 4k miles I am seeing "sandblast" effect already in the Maverick. I do think there is something different about the windshield glass in the Maverick. The other thing to remember is the Maverick sits lower than a standard pickup which makes it more likely to catch rocks off the road. Pickups get some immunity to rocks due to the fact they sit up higher.

I made it 4800 miles. Today, 16" curved crack in the upper-center of the windshield. I've never cracked a windshield while driving in the last 25 years.

I have driven only 700k since I picked up my Maverick XLT and when I drove around a corner in a ally andI heard a pop and an eight inch crack developed right up the center from the base of the windshield.
No cars or trucks in front to create and debris and nothing hit the glass.
It just cracked when I made a tight turn.
Hope the warranty covers it.
