Windshield crack!

Follow-up to this. I had taken a photo of my truck and trailer very close to the USA/Mexico border last week to post on one of those What did you Tow today threads here on MTC. So, I just looked at that photo and zoomed in on the windshield... and yup.. there's the crack... So I had it in the USA prior to the trip...

I got mine somewhere in IL driving home after Thanksgiving. Truck had been parked outside in high teens temps for 5 days. It was snowy and icy one day. No obvious impact to the windshield prior to noticing the crack.
Attached picture was taken Fri December 6th after my truck sat outside overnight at work. Jack Frost helped showcase the crack in my Lariat windshield.

I heard over 2 million Maverick windshields have cracked. Too bad you don't have a Jeep Wrangler - you can get a Gorilla windshield that has stronger glass.

Interesting since they haven't even made 2 million Mavericks

I have been expecting my vehicle insurance to climb more than it has. I don't remember what my glass coverage rider is but it's pretty cheap. Rock dings on windshield need to be treated ASAP before cracking progresses.

Caught a rock chip on my XLT windshield within the first month. I had it fixed the next day before it had a chance to spread. There's a local windshield repair guy that's been setting up in his RV at the same spot for at least 20 years, he charged me $20. The best thing to do is be proactive. If you hear something hit, thoroughly inspect the windshield and if you spot some damage get it fixed lickety split. A single afternoon sitting in the hot Texas sun is all it takes for that crack to spread out. Once cracked there's no uncracking it, you either live with it or replace the whole thing.

Well I'm fortunate, the crack travels corner to corner, so unlikely that it will spread..
