A couple of times now my windshield washer tank empty light has come on when I know it’s not empty. Anyone else have this weird glitch.

Yes. Really don't know why there is a sensor on wiper fluid. If you try to use and it doesn't squirt, add fluid. If it squirts then level is fine. 🤔 Apparently mine was low when I picked it up from dealer. I had never used it and the low light came on indicating low level. It didn't seem low but I filled it and have not seen the indicator since. Maybe it works or maybe it doesn't.

A couple of times now my windshield washer tank empty light has come on when I know it’s not empty. Anyone else have this weird glitch.
John, I've had mine come on when it's not empty, but it was down a bit. I think I added more than 1/2 gallon each time.

Is yours down when this happens, or fairly full? If full, then something's off.

Another odd thing I noticed is it airlocks when geting close to full. If I grab the fender and shake the truck, the level drops and I can add some more. I'm sure this isn't related to your problem, though, just an observation.

I bought the Mav in mid July 2024. The light came on in late September and I had never used the washer. I made the deal for it while it was on the truck, so it came from assembly plant with not much fluid. I filled it and have used a few times since. Indicator has not yet reappeared. I don't remember how much it took to refill it. It may be working correctly. IDk

When the tank is down to about the last 1/3 it’s very easy to trip the sensor from g forces when driving around. If it’s still full enough, it will turn off after you park and come back. The tank is fairly small unfortunately, at least compared to what I’m used to anyways. Most I’ve ever gotten in one is about 2/3 of a gallon

Ohh man does it airlock...... I fill to the brim, then rock my Maverick and can get it to burp A TON of air out of the reservoir 10 or 12 times before if stops. Major design flaw.

Mine did it alot. I took it to Ford and they couldn't find anything wrong, but it hasn't done it since i took it in.

My '25 had the washer fluid light come on a few times, but then it stopped. I didn't take it to Ford, so I'm not sure why it was glitching. It seems to have self-corrected.

My 24 Tremor does this once in a while and I never used it. Like others, waiting to see if it self repairs

From what I remember when seeing a diagram of the repair process, the sensor is not that close to the bottom of the reservoir. So it alarms prematurely when there is still a good quantity of fluid in there. Which also explains why it alarms when you go down or up a hefty incline. The sensor is high enough that even angling a partially filled reservoir will trip the sensor.

Not unique to Maverick. Also exists on Escape and Explorer. I'm guessing Ford engineer has some reason for designing it that way.

Mine was giving false indications during the summer when I had filled it with plain water. This stopped after I filled it with -20* solution. It would appear that plain water is not conductive enough for the sensor to work properly.
