all I have to say is that when I'm driving, if I hear you "make wind", you can walk the rest of the way!

Foan hardly covers the entire cavity....maybe 80-90%, I can still see into the firewall areaI just found out mine has the same issue (missing insulating foam on driver's side) so not only related to lower trims...
This is me. It is maddening. I have to go on a 500 mile trip this week and am considering taking our old 130k mile car instead of the Mav because the old car doesn’t whistle on the highway and the dash doesn’t rattle.I get a slight whistling on driver side windows at highway speeds
I used a stethoscope and can't find the exact spot. It is freaking annoying! Feels like a car from the 70s with wing window.
consider this the truth, then.the Lariat windshield is quieter. I also read, but do not know it to be true, there is sound deadening in the Lariats that is not in the Xl and XLT.
Windshield? yes. Sound deadening? Maybe, I don't know.the Lariat windshield is quieter. I also read, but do not know it to be true, there is sound deadening in the Lariats that is not in the Xl and XLT.
I actually did this and nothing changed. I taped up the entire drivers side door (I climbed in through the passenger side to drive lol) and windshield but the wind noise persisted. I also did the dollar bill test.Windshield? yes. Sound deadening? Maybe, I don't know.
I guess I wasn't clear but what I meant is that the wind noise isn't chronic on all these trucks. It's probably down to a bad window seal or something on that individual one
If I had wind noise, I'd start taping up body seams, door seams, around the windshield, etc until the noise stops. Then you'll know where it's coming from.
It could be a tiny gap in the windshield's urethane seal, who knows. But gradually taping it up and going for a drive after each panel is taped up, you'll eventually stop the noise and that will pinpoint where the air leak is
I tried the same thing and taped it up too but no luck still, please let me know if we're able find a solution if you find one. I checked the seals as well and no luck as wellI actually did this and nothing changed. I know I'm not crazy as I had others sit in the drivers side and could hear the faint whistle coming from the upper back part of the drivers side door. Maybe the door is slightly misaligned...
I know it's a long shot but at my first service I'm going to ask about it and see if I can drive another Maverick to do a comparison. Worse case scenario I take it to a body shop to see about the door alignment on my own dime.
I'd just turn the volume up but I can't always do that, especially with passengers in the car. Also it's really noticeable when listening to podcasts.
