The new Azure Grey is similar but yet different. Area 51 will only be produced in 2022 and 2023 model years? Will these become collectible or will it just be a discontinued color everyone forgets about?

I think the existence of such a similar color like Azure Gray cheapens the potential for a cult-like following of Area 51. We can brand those Mavericks as the generation that either waited forever or paid out the nose.

Instead of any one particular color becoming a classic color, I think we’ll eventually look back on this era of muted colors as a trend, which has been ongoing for at least 5 years already. I like most colors that fall into this category, including Cactus Gray (mine just shipped) and the new Azure Gray, which looks fantastic on the F150.

A ‘22/‘23 Area 51 Hybrid Maverick may become many things, “Collectable” is not on the list..

Good luck

No, it’ll probably be like those teal pickups from the 80’s. I think A51 is teal-gray, so…

I liked the color, a lot, but never felt it looked good with Navy Pier and too damn cheap to spend the bucks for the BAP so what was I to do? Order my Maverick in Iconic Silver, that's what, which goes quite well with the interior and jet black wheels of the FX/4.

I suspect Cyber-orange is more likely to be a classic, not many people want to have a vehicle that looks like a school bus or taxi from the factory, so not many out there.
True. Not a fan, yet I'd buy a Cyber Orange Mav over an Area 51 any day.

It seems like many other manufacturers have a very similar color... it's starting to be almost "common."

In 25 years it will be a classic.
