I can tell a difference. My buddy has an FX4 and he's trying to get tremor suspension after driving mine. The non tremor suspension seems to bang around a little more.
As long as you use a cup for the filter it doesn't make a mess. Same as when the stock plate is removed. The angled front fascia is what causes the issue.
I just changed my oil a couple thousand miles ago. If I remember, I'll try to get one, but it's pretty simple. Just use a plastic cup to take off the oil filter once loosened, which I already did due to the revised fascia angle.
I didn't notice these on the skid plate, but maybe I missed it when Rivals installed (I helped install though). I did see these used on the catalytic converter cover, wasn't sure how those went on. I stepped away when that one was installed.
Same mount points as stock for the skid plate. The catalytic converter took about 30mins, but it isn't the final design, so could change. Sorry, I don't think I have any other pics.
Sounds like this might be a hybrid only issue. I have this skidplate for my Ecoboost Tremor and have no issues changing oil. And pro-tip for removing oil filter without a mess: use a red solo cup, that way it doesn't drip on the plate or plastics.
Just curious, I followed your trip when you did it. I'm trying to get down to Big Bend and do the jeep badge of honor trail. Unfortunately I hurt my back in the gym and now have sciatica is killing me on long car rides.
