No, it’ll probably be like those teal pickups from the 80’s. I think A51 is teal-gray, so…
Had a 1991 dodge stealth, teal color. It was truly sex on wheels. Drove it off the showroom floor. More of a magnet than even an Area 51 maverick. Maverick is creating the mini truck market again.

I think Area 51 definitely symbolizes the current trend of the paint going on cars today. I could see in 25 years someone working a Maverick restore project deliberately going out of their way to match Area 51. The color choice will be nostalgic for some but will likely not add any value to the truck for resale. For now, I just enjoy other people describing the color to me...grey, blue, teal, green, blue-green. Depending on the the light or lack of light on the vehicle its color changes so much that there are times I don't recognize my own pickup in the parking lot!

Hey, as long as you keep your Maverick for 25 years it'll be a "classic" no matter the paint color.

Now, as to whether it'll be worth much, that's another story.

The new Azure Grey is similar but yet different. Area 51 will only be produced in 2022 and 2023 model years? Will these become collectible or will it just be a discontinued color everyone forgets about?

no....market is over saturated with that color... maverick, bronco 2 and bronco

Avalanche grey would be the only rare color because of the short run and limited model. Nobody will want a 50k mile hybrid and that's what they will all be soon.

Once the market settles these will be a dime a dozen like used camrys and focus'.

I suspect Cyber-orange is more likely to be a classic, not many people want to have a vehicle that looks like a school bus or taxi from the factory, so not many out there.
Just got a text from my son currently working in Georgia. He just passed a school bus with the rear top cut off to height of bottom of windows to make a loooong bed produce hauler "pickup"!!!!!

Only trouble being that the dime will only be worth $0.0001 so the 50k miles will only be 5X MSRP!

I wished for a lighter blue when purchasing mine but settled for Alto Blue. Looking back, I am glad I got the darker color. It is a timeless choice and will always be in style, unlike all the “flavor of the month” colors.

Velocity Blue will probably be even more rare. It was a 2022 exclusive and if I remember only 5%-10% of 2022s were ordered with Velocity Blue.
