AWD was the only reason. For me a 2wd pickup is kind of worthless. The 4k tow was just a bonus of going Ecoboost. I still really considered hybrid and just using it as a summer around town town pickup but then I'd be using my current pickup for so much stuff that it would defeat the purpose of even buying the Maverick.

How many hybrid owners that posted here have bought a boost box because they worry about the truck stranding them in the middle of nowhere? Not trying to be a hater but it seems like the vast majority of folks posting problems with their truck have this engine as are almost all of the recalls aside from the airbags.

I feel bad for those of you having issues. I also feel that the clock is ticking on the ones that haven't had any problems yet.

What made you decide to get the ecoboost over the hybrid?
Was it mainly towing?
AWD, followed by 4k tow. But really AWD. I’d much prefer the hybrid.

I'm in my 40s and have carried jumper cables (now a little battery) since I could first drive.
Pre/post hybrid. Just makes sense, like a spare and pump

I had 3 main reasons.

I just couldnt accept the idea of a front wheel drive pickup. Just my own personal bias. I've mostly had rear wheel drive.

I live out in the country and have a long commute. The hybrid seems more like a city driving thing

$3000.00 discount on an ecoboost. If it would have been $3000.00 discount on a hybrid, I'd probably be driving one.

Because it fits my needs (AWD, 4K) and I can drive what I want. It's still America.

If Ford puts out a hybrid Maverick with 4K towing and 250+ horsepower I will be looking at it closely.

Knock on wood no issues whatsoever at 5k miles.

There was a thread asking about people who have had no issues. LOTS of responses. It's unfortunate that many trucks do have the sleep issues or whatever, but they're a very small minority.

rumor has it that we're going to get a Ranger like that in 2025, like a F150 powerboost.

I have not heard anything about a high output hybrid Maverick.
