In my area, finding a local mechanic familiar with Hybrid or EV powertrains is about like finding an ice cube in hell. The local ford dealers service depts scratch their heads and ass looking at them from what I've heard.
Lastly, I'm in the senior citizen bracket but still young enough to have fun with spirited driving where its appropriate. I would not benefit from the aspects where the Hybrid's shine (city driving, stop & go, easy on the pedal, coasting, that Coach thing I hear mentioned a lot, etc. etc.) Not against them at all, just not my thing. To each their own.

I thought by my previous post about not having a limp wrist would give you insight as to why I could never own a corvette.
I got one because I need to do truck stuff and I refuse to jump on the hype train of hybrid. It’s another drive system to have issues with.
Not to mention I love ecoboost engines.
I can definitely agree with you about the two systems. At least they cover most of it on the Hyrbids with a longer "limited" warranty but it's just more to fail and with the battery drain that so many FORD's are having including our EB's, not something I trusted coming from an Escape Hybrid that I experienced those issues with first hand.

Also, hilarious comment about the vette's. Well played sir.

Wow, really…..
It was in jest and I was simply following the logic of the person I quoted.

Sorry, to put it in terms of this thread:
Us hybrid owners use our brains, so we can reason logically.
The egoboost owners can't and obviously aren't able to grasp my comedic remarks.

/sarcasm
Before anyone jumps on me - read my first post on page 1. The 2.0 offers some real compelling reasons to purchase. I only started "trolling" the comments after some snarks were cast - you know, "limp wristed" might have been it.
So, in conclusion, and to keep in line with the thread here - "He started it".

Well usually it’s the truth that does hurt! As for logical and being able to think going with hybrid. Hmm same world maybe where a man came turn his wiener inside out and pretend to be a woman. 😏
🍻
lol
My hybrid identifies as a real truck!

Wait, does a hybrid have a smaller bed or less payload capacity?
Not sure same bed for sure payload not sure but it comes down to why? Because I want the extra power to be able to haul things like this and not feel like I would be better off powering it with my bare feet.

FYI when my 24 comes in I will be loading 2000lbs and hauling that. I hate making more than one trip for feed. Plus I like to do manly stuff with my “trucks”. I have to be careful cause some people don’t think our mavericks are trucks. Yet I can tell you mine will be doing more truck stuff than 80-90 percent the Silverado’s on the road. 99 percent of all Toyotas for sure.

I doubt that, The 2.5 L is simpler, has no direct inj, no turbos, no belts. The trans is simpler also.
I agree. In the past ten years, I've put 395,000 total miles on three Ford Hybrids (two Fusion hybrids, one Mav hybrid). Those miles have been the least expensive and least maintenance/repair miles I've ever driven.

I wanted the ability to eventually and progressively increase the performance of the turbo 2.0L, and AWD was a 100% must have for both that reason as well as for the increased safety and stability while driving in wet weather.

Why 3? I literally did that with one ecoboost? Only oils changes and plugs?

Hahaha! That's fantastic! I agree you can rip 400k on one Ford eco or hybrid.

In response to the original post question, hybrid owner here... I would've chosen eco for quickness (AWD only), great hwy fuel economy, and AWD.

Knew the EcoBoost would be more reliable.
Have you ever torn apart an automatic transmission? And all of the newer ones have an electronic component to them too.
