  1. Why the ecoboost?

Hahaha! That's fantastic! I agree you can rip 400k on one Ford eco or hybrid. In response to the original post question, hybrid owner here... I would've chosen eco for quickness (AWD only), great hwy fuel economy, and AWD.
  2. Why the ecoboost?

I agree. In the past ten years, I've put 395,000 total miles on three Ford Hybrids (two Fusion hybrids, one Mav hybrid). Those miles have been the least expensive and least maintenance/repair miles I've ever driven.
  3. Took Delivery of our Alto Blue Maverick Lariat Hybrid today - Pics and thoughts

Great choice. Area 51 is a great color also. I think it matches well with the Lariat interior. I see a lot of them around the Motor City, and you won't be disappointed! And you're right...you won't have to run it through the wash as often. I use a monthly wash pass to keep the Alto Blue...
  4. VIDEO: The Leer 100XP Sport Camper Shell | The Good, Bad, and Eye Pokey!

Thatā€™s the best looking truck cap Iā€™ve ever seen, on any truck, any make. Finally! A cap design not completely framed around the cap window! The lines are beautiful, and do not take anything away from the uncapped maverick profile.
  5. The REAL HYBRID MPG

I agree. I've tracked continuous fuel economy by filling it up again and again since June 21, 2022. All four seasons must also be considered. In Michigan, we get much better fuel economy in the non-winter months. Arizona drivers, just the opposite. My Michigan four-season average...
  6. Crowdsourced Maverick MPG figures from 282 owners over 2.6 million miles (from Fuelly) ā›½ļø

@Mightybeast ...$2.74/gallon in March? You Oklahomans have some cheap gas!
  7. Crowdsourced Maverick MPG figures from 282 owners over 2.6 million miles (from Fuelly) ā›½ļø

I agree with @Hatonapug 100%. Unless you're in a climate where you're always below 32ĀŗF, or you always slam on the brakes, or you drive mostly highway and at speeds 75mph+...you should be above 40 mpg. I drive 50/50 city/hwy, and almost always 70 mph on the hwy. In the winter when it's below...
  8. Bass Boat Towing with 2.0L 4K Towing Package

For most of us readers, thatā€™s 19.6 mpg
  9. Maverick Tremor vs. Tacoma SR5 review, back-to-back for a week

Yes, I've seen those hoards of Tacos on the island (and on the big island too). Quicksand and cement colored Tacos abound.
  10. My 10,000 mile update - Hybrid Lariat w/ Lux package

@Pezzard @ehauser Yeah, almost no electric miles on the interstate for these hybrids. Yes, if you pass someone and then back down to to 70 mph, you'll get a few electric miles on the insterstate...or downhill. I never really expect any significant electric miles on the interstate. I'm...
  11. Would you take $5,000 over what you paid?

The markup is incredible. Weā€™re in MI, so yes, near Flint, there was a lot of lead in the water. That aside, itā€™s true, crazy markups even for FWD EB models! One week ago, my sister-in-law decided she didnā€™t like a truckā€™s ride quality. Two months of ownership into her 2023 Mav EB FWD XL, I...
  12. EGR Fender Flare Installed

Those are some of the BEST looking fender flares Iā€™ve seen. Too many times, I see those bolt-on-appearance fender flares, and theyā€™re usually bulky looking, dwarfing the scale of the track width and tires. Not so with yours. Nicely done!!
  13. After one year of ownership ... love it more today after 17K miles

Thank you for the very passionate ownership review! I get similarly passionate about our alto blue lariat hybrid. I love that every 15 sec, light touch lane centering. BTWā€¦we agree about the moonroof, as we ordered ours without the moonroofšŸ˜†.
  14. Acoustic windshield on Lariat -- looks old after less than a year

Weā€™ve had ours for 13 months, and I havenā€™t noticed the ā€˜sparkles,ā€™ but it wouldnā€™t surprise me. Six days after we got our truck, a rock got kicked up from a pickup in oncoming traffic at a relatively low speed, while the pickup was slowing to approach a 4-way stop. It was like I could see the...
  15. Jalopnik Review: The 2023 Ford Maverick XL Proves That Sometimes, Base Is Best

Yes, it was not Atlas Blue. Jalopnik seems to have jalopy-esque writers on staff
  16. Jalopnik Review: The 2023 Ford Maverick XL Proves That Sometimes, Base Is Best

Yeah, I agree, and he was inaccurate on the hybrid: he only mentioned the output of the gas motor, and did not mention the combined / net 191 hp of the gas+electric.
  17. Expectations Met? A 4-Season, 29K Mile, 1-Year Maverick Hybrid Owner's Review (40.8 mpg)

Not to worry @Big Turtle ! Every ICE and Hybrid (which also has an ICE) gets worse fuel economy in cold weather. You probably never tracked the difference in any of your previous ICE cars/trucks. Southern Michigan / Metro Detroit gets cold, but certainly not like your ND cold. We also took...
  18. Expectations Met? A 4-Season, 29K Mile, 1-Year Maverick Hybrid Owner's Review (40.8 mpg)

I saw that 2023 window sticker, and I was flummoxed! What youā€™re saying about tweaking the regenerative braking makes a lot of sense. Yes, Iā€™m sure she will also be fine with the 40 mpg. I donā€™t experience that jerkiness of the brakes very often, so Iā€™ll stick with my 42 mpg ā€˜22 lariat...
