Why keyless door entry instead of using app?

Faster to touch the door handle
That is one of the primary reasons I chose a Lariat. Key insertions, touchpads and phones not needed. Love Intelligent Access.

the accessory, not built in, key pad functions the same as your fob.
is your fob effected by deep sleep?
O I see. No the FOB does fine in deep sleep Thank God!

First because I hate mobile phones and don't own one. Second because when I'm out for a hike or a walk, I don't want to carry keys or anything else I can lose.

Cause when your at the park or wherever and you, grandkids, etc left something in the truck you can just enter the code and carry on. Everyone doesn't live or die to have a phone or keyfob in their hand at all times. Don't understand the mindset of a phone or an app being the solution to everything.

So does the keypad not get disabled in deep sleep?

Do you know if it's the same for the accessory keypad that's not built in? (purchased/installed after picking the truck up)
The keypad works when in deep sleep, however, it won't work with a completely dead battery.

My fob is not affected when the truck is in deep sleep.

Smartphone (Apple iPhone) introduced in 2007 and I daresay many here were raised with one, not to mention the marketing we see devoted to using your phone for just about everything. There is something to be said for figuring out a solution using one's own experience and ingenuity and I fear that may be fading away. Up to us old guys to keep it alive.

I volunteer in a prison, almost every Friday evening and I can't take my keys or phone in with me. If it wasn't for the keypad on the door I couldn't get in my vehicle. I also live being able to run out to my car and not have to drag keys or a phone with me. All of three of our current Fords have the keypad. My Maverick is waiting to ship and I have already ordered the keypad from the dealership so they can install it when the truck arrives.

On the 2023, keyless keypads were standard on the XLT and Lariat. It comes in handy when you don’t have your key fob or phone. I like it.
Not standard on my 2024 XLT. I am debating on whether to add it on or not.

The proximity system allows you to lock and unlock instantly as long as the keyfob is in a pocket or purse or gym bag just by touching the three strips on the door handle to lock or grasping the door handle to unlock. Instantly. Then start a Lariat Mav using the start button. It is a conveniece feature some love. That is one reason I paid the extra bucks for the Lariat.
I only have an XLT, so proximity doesn't apply.

It was an add on, on the 2023 but removed from the initial 2024. I understand it was added back bi I planned on adding after in any case.

What do they charge for the part and to install it for a 2024 that doesn't have it?

The key pad is 120 but I am sure a couple of dollars to install/link.
