I agree, Fuel percentage is meaningless. I want something I can briefly glance at and have an accurate reading of my fuel level. I don't want to have to figure out how many miles I have until empty.

Doesn’t it state miles to empty on the dash anymore?
I would just use the dash app!
Comes with the truck
Very true, and I love that feature, but the whole idea of the Ford app is the ability to see the conditions of the truck when you're away from it.

Well, if you know the capacity of your tank, you can calculate how many gallons you have left based on what's still in the tank. Then multiply that by your anticipated mpg to get a good estimate of your "miles to empty" - which the car already calculates and estimates for you.

Basically simple math, but I think most people would rather have the estimate on their phone when they log into FordPass rather than have to try to find the built in calculator function on their phone - or pencil and paper (yes, believe it or not, that's how we used to do math). I mean, we can generally generate a good WAG too, depending on how math-oriented we are.
You: "simple math"

There is plenty of room on the screen to have both calculations… but I would like to have the odometer reading on the same page like it used to be!

Ooo an academic debate - I'm in! I'm not sure why fuel level in the app is all that relevant anyway. Unless the truck hasn't been driven in days or weeks, presumably one would have looked at the dash (in the truck) and noticed the fuel level, no?

Supposing I used the app to check my fuel level, I'm on the side of wanting to know the volume of fuel left in the tank (percentage), rather than the predicted distance to empty. Volume is a measurement, DTE is a prediction; I'd rather have the hard data.

I see a lot of excuses for why people don't even need the "miles to empty" feature on the app. The app itself isn't necessary to be honest. It's kind of like a basic calculator. A time saver, but there is nothing done in it that can't be done with pencil and paper - and a little (or a lot) time.

I can think of 2 reasons that they might have done this.
1, software people always like to change things up, whether an improvement or not. Just change for the sake of change. Look at the Windows interface. Improvements? I'd say not. Just stuff moved around so you have to waste time looking for things that were once easy to find and navigate.
2, the feature removed can later be added as an additional feature in the "deluxe" version, for a subscription fee.

Yep. As much as I am embarrassed to say, I only drive my truck every few days. I can't remember breakfast yesterday, much less how I left the truck fuel last week.

Volume is a measurement, DTE is a prediction; I'd rather have the hard data.
And now I have to take that "hard data" and make... a prediction with it. ;)
I have already come to accept that the accuracy of the truck's math is no better or worse than my own, and I would wager that the "percentage of fuel" shown in the app is subject to every bit of the same approximation and tolerance that the MPG/MTE calculation is.

... my wife who has andriod her shpws miles not sure if the app glitched for iphone users or not but please bring back the miles...
If your wife likes the MTE, she should find the app in the Play Store and disable auto-updates in the app's settings (not global settings).

Doesn’t it state miles to empty on the dash...?
Exactly. I don't use the app at all. I just look at the gas gauge or the MTE in the applicable instrument cluster screen. I don't need to buy gas unless I'm driving the truck. Why would I care, otherwise.

Okay, I'm having a problem with the Ford Pass app. I recently did an app update on my iPhone, and now instead of miles on the fuel level, I get a percentage. My wife, who has Android, still sees miles. I'm not sure if the app glitched for iPhone users or not, but please bring back the miles. Or you could switch to Android and be 10 years ahead of the current iPhone.

Mine is seeing the same Percentage. what the F’!/? Seems every time Ford updates it to the worse possible situation. Bring back the original settings. Not a big fan of the latest update. 🤮
