Did anyone take extended warranty? I have 5 yr 60K but am being offered additional 7 yr 100K which doesn’t start until my 5 yrs is up. With all of the electronics I’m just wondering.
BTW I picked up my new truck today. Thanks for the encouragement to wait. It’s only been a year😂

IF you decide to get one, order a genuine Ford ESP Factory Extended Warranty online from Granger or other dealers that offer them for only $50 over their cost.

When the dealer started talking about extended warranty on our 23 maverick,I looked him in the eye and said if this Ford is as good as my 14 year old dodge,I don't need an extended warranty. I told him I had confidence in Ford and didn't need one. He didn't know what to say. Will see how it holds up!

Congrats!

I always ask for the OTD price prior to arrival and have bank check cut for that exact amount. When I hit finance I take the check out of the envelope and place it on the desk facing the finance manager so they understand right away there are no add on sales occurring.

I believe you have to purchase a Ford ESP before the bumper to bumper warranty expires, not the 5 yr/60k powertrain warranty - regardless you have at least 3 years or 36k miles to figure out if you want to purchase one and then go through Flood or Granger - or make sure your dealer will match that price.

I think there was a time we bought extended warranties because we were afraid the vehicle might have problems, which meant I almost never bought one. Today, I bought the PremiumCare ESP because I KNOW there will be problems, and the ESP is a hedge against inflation. Case in point: the 2013 Toyota Avalon I bought in November of 2021 with 96,000 miles. The bumper-to-bumper extended warranty (5 years from purchase date/ 150,000 total miles) was $2200. In the first year, they had to replace the steering column, along with several components in the A/C system. Total cost for both? $7,200.00!! Automotive parts and labor costs are skyrocketing and have been for years. You can pay them now, or you can pay them a lot more later.

Thank you. You’ve told me what I needed to know.
