We bought the Maverick to replace our 98 Taco with 190K on it, regular cab, crank windows. Sits outside now, looking lonely. Need to sell it and get if off the insurance. Still runs good, but needs a little work.

My Maverick replaced a 2008 Ranger that I bought new back in 2008 and I absolutely hated seeing it go. I traded it in when I bought the Maverick and the Ranger had the 2.3L I-4 with the 5 speed manual transmission and had 212,000 miles on it when I traded it in. I would might still have it to this day and the thing was, there was a hole in the body by the parking brake pedal about the size of a quarter and it was only getting worse as time went on.

My '23 Lariat EcoBoost hasn't actually replaced anything yet. I have a '17 Focus now with 232,000 miles that I kept as my back-and-forth to work vehicle. I didn't want to keep driving it until it forced to buy something. Typically, I only drive my Maverick on the weekends or days off from work to keep the mileage down.

My mom's 2006 subaru forester with almost 300k miles on it. She took my fusion, i got a maverick. Good trade! If subaru still made the baja I'd have gotten one but this is spiritually the same, in my opinion.

2013 Ford C-Max with 87000 miles. Wanted a truck and something that was better for cross country winter driving.
Mine was a 2013 c-Max with 140,000. It ran great until it didn’t.

Bought my (used) '23 Maverick hybrid to replace a 2015 Ram 1500 that had ~150,000 miles on it. Hit a patch of black ice going up a large hill, bounced off an embank & rolled on its side. Didn't think it was damaged too bad, but because the airbags went off the insurance company totaled it. Went from $50+ each week for gas to ~$22/week!

2018 Mazda CX-5.....despite the cylinder deactivation software 'fix' a couple months after we bought it, IMO the cylinder deactivation killed it, at 184k miles. Like all my cars, got the best of maintenance (5k synthetic, etc), but when it went, it went with a boom. Lots of smoke and pulling off the valve cover revealed some lovely cylinder head fails, like no 1, 4 intake cam followers 'unfollowing' in different cylinders and a nice chunk of no. 4 cylinder head gently wrapped around the beautiful NGK plug it spit out. Wife's car. I totally liked it when new, but as time went on, it was a real pita. Personally, I prefer my 2003 Acura TL-0S with 544k miles on it. Never cracked the engine except for timing belts/water pump....and of course the 4 transmissions (since Honda could not make a 5-speed to save their &*^%$). Still driving it today. Maverick is the wife's car!

Always did like that style of Ranger. That and the Mazda twin. Had a Ford salesman tell me one time that the Ranger was the best vehicle Ford had--because it was made by Mazda--don't know if he was kidding or really serious. But you do see a lot still around--just like the old gen 1 tacos.

Sorry to hear that! Our 2013 C-Max hybrid has 207k miles on it and going strong. Best car I ever bought new (up to now?). Wife's, then mine, then son 1, son 2 and now daughter 3. Still gets 40+ with the daughter driving it (not so much with either me, sons). Changed the brakes/rotors at 160k. I likely could have gone longer on that too. Hated the MS-Sync system. Spilled/refilled trans every 50k after the first 30k service. Runs like a champ. Mostly the reason the wife is ok with the Maverick, due to the robustness of the C-Max.

A 2018 Ford Edge SEL - We really loved it, but after 110K miles it had 2 transmissions and an engine replaced the Warranty was up and we weren't willing to roll the dice. Lucky I had a Ford Extended Warranty - Ford took care of me when things went bad without ANY pushback.

Nowadays EVERY SINGLE MANUFACTURER has problems, how they take car of their customers speaks volumes.

I have a 2003 SuperCrew F150 with 300K on it as well, we use that to haul and tow what we need to. :0)

Troy.

My 2024 is in addition to and not a replacement. First shot at a hybrid and only second time owning a Ford in 49 years of driving. I have a full size truck a few classics and the dreaded SUV / modern day stationwagon for the masses. I believe trucks are the last vehicle you can tell apart from one another.
