Your second sentence here really tells the whole story. Old man yells at things because they have progressed over time. Who knew cabinet hinges and toilet seats could make the elderly so angry.

Do you like soft close drawer guides and cabinet hinges? What about soft close toilet seats? None of them are necessary but to most it makes the user experience a little bit better.

I have the RokBlokz myself and see them lasting years to warrant the price tag. This is my truck for the next decade so I was okay spending slightly more for quality accessories. Going cheap usually doesn't work out on things you use daily.

You get what you pay for. "Universal" really means "Not designed to exact specs for anything". IMO you're better off finding something that's made specifically for the Maverick, like the Mabett flaps.

It's perfect for me. I keep a pair of work gloves back in the door pocket, my wallet fits perfectly under the speaker, and I have a hydroflask bottle that snaps in snug to the water bottle holder. I don't know what else I'd want to store in the door that doesn't fit somewhere else in the truck.

Had my Maverick for over a year with 13,000 miles on it. I'm averaging 27.9 MPG on my 2.0 AWD during that entire period.

I was in a similar situation and went with the EB AWD for now. You'll be adding about 10mpg so in a few years you may save the amount of money on gas and Ranger repairs that you'd lose in value in the vehicle in that same time. It may be worth it
