And what model year? I may have missed it, but I think I only saw ā€˜22.
I have a '23 Hybrid XLT
I have found a water puddle in the front passenger mat twice after hard rains
Fortunately no wet carpet yet
I did find that it was wet under the dash

I need to check next time we get a lot of rain. Very concerning, thanks for sharing.

Update on my water leak issue. As I described previously, the dealer isolated the area of the leak after removing the outer and inner fenders, dash, front seats and numerous other misc parts. The leak was sealed and the wait began for the replacement carpet to correct the mold issue. After six weeks the carpet arrived but before putting things back together they noticed the dash had been scratched during removal and would need to be replaced. The dash is ordered and supposed to be the highest priority but there is no date from Ford as to when it will be available. Monday marks 8 weeks that my Mav has been at the dealer for the water issue and no end in sight. I have a loaner but I want my Mav. That’s what I’m making monthly payments on! Advice or sympathy is always

I was able to visit my Mav today. This is a photo of it in its current state.

Wow, that is one major disassembly! Impressed they took on that job.

Can you point out where the leak they discovered and repaired was in the picture?

The said the leak was in the area circled in red. It was a seam that was not sealed during manufacturing. It wasn’t the door seal.

JJ:

I am in the same boat as you are and so are many others.

The best thing everyone can do is to report this issue (especially the mold) to NHTSA. They want to hear from us.

Go online and file a report. It’s very easy! Good luck!!

Wow that's a serious repair. Did you ever have water under the dash up higher like mine or was it only down on the floor? Looks like my issue isn't related to this, I hope.

This is horrific. I've just learned that I have the same leak. Dealers can't get me in to fix!

Perhaps Ford brought back the designers of the early Mustang cowl vent system.

Anyone else having issues with leaks in the passenger side? I took it to the dealer and they say they can’t find the source, but it’s clearly coming from behind the carpet. Whether it’s through the hood or one of the panels I’m not sure. Dealer says I will have to pay labor in order to pull up carpets to diagnose the leak. Hoping someone has another suggestion!
Claynik:

I have written ad nauseum about this issue in this forum. I’m in Northern California and I took delivery on January 22, 2022 of a Hot Pepper Lariat.

That winter we had massive rainfall and it rained inside my truck from the headliner to the carpets. My dealership tore it down completely. There was mold in the carpets.

The truck was there for 17 days before they located the source. The multiple repair orders ā€˜seem’ to indicate a seal issue on right side near the windshield.

I say ā€˜seem’ because there is so much information some of which is nonsensical to me. It was all covered under warranty. The dealer also rented me a car.

Hopefully you get a resolution!

What is the scenario where it develops and gets noticed? I've rarely driven in the rain with only 750 miles on mine (Aug '23 build).

Is there a way I could use a hose to test?

That might work. I noticed it was worse (wetter on passenger carpet) when the mav was parked and sat through a rain storm.
