Mine was fixed completely but the leak was on the passenger side. That's where I've heard most of the leak is from, a poorly installed cowl on the passenger side. I've not heard of any driverside leaks. Did you buy your Maverick new or used? If new, take it back to the dealership ASAP!
When this happened to me, I feared this would be widespread. I was very lucky to have caught it in the first few days of ownership but knew it would be hard to find unless you were swapping your floor mats. Ugh, i can’t even imagine the smell once mold starts growing.
That is why a brand new Ford Maverick will leak water into the interior of the car causing mold and other damage because of cheap plastic and assembly.
I think you have it backwards. Corporate companies with shareholders go with the lowest prices to maximize profits for shareholders. The government doesn't have an issue with spending money to buy expensive military weapons and ships, the highest paid senators and congressmen, and overspend on...
Definitely. They'll likely need to shampoo all fabric items and literally wipe and disinfect everything else. Also, they will probably need to run an ozone machine in there for awhile. Ugh, so sorry man.
This is
This absolutely sucks. If mold is already visible, it's spores are likely all over the cabin. This isn't just about drying out the passenger floorboard anymore, there is likely to be a smell unless a very thorough cleaning is done. I hope the dealer really helps you with this.
Very sad that you guys had to go through this. When I was more active in the forums, I would try to warn everyone who purchased a Maverick to test it out for leakage so they didn't find out months/years later when exposed to the rain.
That's awesome to hear! I don't know if you've already locked in your baseplate but the Demco baseplate is also the way to go.
As for the recall work, the updated brakes just make it feel like a different car. When I first purchased it, the brakes were WAY too sensitive. When the dealer...
Oh absolutely. Disconnecting and connecting the Maverick to our RV is such a breeze not having to fumble around with external braking systems. And I just had some recall work done on the Maverick which for some reason or another made the brake performance soo much better than before. I can't...
I wonder if the AWD hybrid is flat towable behind an RV. That's the only reason I purchased the Maverick hybrid in the first place, otherwise I may have gone with the ecoboost if that was flat towable.
So I posted about grabby brakes on my 2024. As far as I know, there is a TSB ( 22-2493) for MY2022 that is available (doesn't apply to 2024) but then my dealer performed a PCM and SOBDMC update (something they found on an internal Ford board) and that solved my issue with the grabby breaks...
OMG!! That's horrible. I posted about my experience. Luckily? I live in the PNW where it rains a lot. And was able to catch my leak fairly early on. Dealer didn't gut my interior like yours but was able to find the leak and correct. My truck was in the shop for like 3 or 4 days to air out and...
That doesn't make sense, a deformed part and they expect you to pay for half of it? I don't think so, I would keep pushing Ford to make this right. It's going to suck, but it's the right thing to do.
OMG, I'm so sorry! This is exactly what I was afraid of. I would reach out to Ford directly and point to all these threads with water leak. In fact, after I posted this message, someone from Ford reached out to me directly. I can share that contact if you need.
