While I’m hunkered down in my house in NE FL waiting for Ian I keep looking out the window at Tyger and wondering if she will be safe in my driveway, not for the trees but the high water. I just read someone’s post and all the comments about water fording in our Mavs which got me concerned. Do I leave her in the driveway where she wouldn’t get hit with a fallen tree or do I park her at the other end of the yard where an electric pole might come down? Stressed in FL😵💫

NE Florida? You should be fine if you're around Jacksonville.
If you think NE means around Orlando, well . . .
I went thru Charlie, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne in 2004 in Kissimmee. I now live 1500 miles NW of Floriduh and I aint goin back!!

Ian is making land as a category 4 it seems. I’d get the hell out… even if you survive the storm, power will most certainly be out for an extended period time for most of the state. Being in Houston, I know first hand that the heat and humidity after a hurricane can be unbearable... I’d bounce in a heartbeat.

I think GreenLady will be OK unless she lives directly on the coast. By the time Ian gets there it will be very windy and wet, but nothing we haven't dealt with in the past. Good chance she won't lose power. I live farther south, in Melbourne, and we're expecting stronger winds and a lot of rain, and very few people are leaving here (mainly recent transplants who raided our grocery stores).

We are bracing for the worst at our Condo in Madeira Beach. Hopefully it misses us.

Home is in Titusville, ended up happening during a business trip so I've got my Mav in Chicago at the moment! But I'm wondering what I'll be driving back into over the weekend...

I hope all my fellow Floridians ride this out well. Stay safe and bottles to the sky, boys and girls!

I'm going to bogart my absent neighbor's carport for the storm to protect my Maverick.

I'm just up here in Alabama watching my lawn turn brown because I haven't had a good, measurable rain since April.

I’m on the island in St Augustine and can’t evacuate at this point. I’m used to losing power (20 years here) and just wish I had a battery backup for my solar panels! Darn FPL that shuts us down during an outage! Is it November yet? Stay safe and good luck to all in the path of Ian’s journey! Post when you can.
