The new install after rebuilding the trim pieces to my liking :) having trouble writing my mileage to the odometer though, but I've noted my miles so I'm solid until I get that figured out!
I haven't done the install yet - I've purchased a speedometer from a Bronco Sport and from a Lincoln Corsair, so I decided I would take them all apart and put the trim pieces back together the way I would like. Install will likely be tomorrow, once the cold front has come through!
No, and I had hoped that when I first bought the wheel - but the software recognizes the different switches, so even if you set cruise control to on in FORScan, the LIM switch won't work.
Home is in Titusville, ended up happening during a business trip so I've got my Mav in Chicago at the moment! But I'm wondering what I'll be driving back into over the weekend...
I hope all my fellow Floridians ride this out well. Stay safe and bottles to the sky, boys and girls!
Glad to see more people doing this! The LIM switch is slightly different than cruise control. Cruise control limits how low the car goes in speed - you can take your foot off the gas, and if cruise is on 75mph, it will keep going at 75 (I'm sure y'all already know that much.)
The LIM switch on...
Its also an expected gauge drivers are used to seeing that's relatively inexpensive compared to adding more digital screen real estate, I'd assume. Sure they could add more screen and thus increase the information provided at once - and they did that elsewhere on the C2 platform, the Escape :)...
It doesn't feel stuck, clicks as per usual, but I think the actual on-silicon element that the switch interacts with becomes stuck - as it doesn't immediately become apparent it's a switch issue. My first thought was that the window regulator bit it. I only knew it was a switch issue when...
Including mine, I believe this is the fourth I've seen total, and I think there are two other threads here for it. 🫤
As for what causes it, you press the switch and it gets stuck down. Simple as that - maybe I was a little heavy with the press but let's be real, I shouldn't have to gently...
It sucks but if you can't get in for service immediately, you'll have to bag the window.
Painters tape and plastic (a trash bag) will seal it without damage to the paint (in my experience) then you can put a second, larger bag over the window to protect the tape from being tugged off by the...
This is exactly what the dealership did with mine. The switch burned out the motor, so we're in line for a new switch and motor - which is on backorder!
Not to worry though, they'll get your window back up and leave the switch disconnected so it can't be rolled back down.
If anyone with the 6.5 panel on their EcoBoost could pull their firmware for me, that'd be awesome! I'm screwing around with one I had pulled from a Bronco Sport for cheap but I'd like to set it up with the Mav firmware if possible. Thanks!
