The only time I have heard the turbo is when towing my 3100 lb boat.
I know mine is there and doing a great the job, but i never heard mine, as long it gives me a good performance I'm good to go. I love sleepers.

Have you tried sport mode?
Ditto, even more so, were you noticing the behavior in Eco or Slippery mode?

How you depress the throttle in an automatic also has impact. I find many system respond better to a gradual but swift depress of the peddle vs just pinning it to the floor.

Eg. Going from 20mph to floored in a smooth motion over 3 seconds. (Still faster than most cars can make it up to speed being asked) seems to immediately start acceleration.

Vs

Going from 20mph to floored in .25 second as fast as your foot can go. I find this often confuses many auto transmissions. Like it hesitates on the throttle while trying to figure out what gear to shift to in order to meet your demand.

go to like 1:40 in this video for a visual
"Really wasn't designed to look pretty" said at the end of the video. This goes well with the engine cover thread and makes me sad 😟. Pretty under the hood shouldn't even be a passing thought or talking point (but it sadly pops up all over), especially not if it means less serviceability. That's kind of why it's "under the hood" in the first place.

I've also found TC or traction control also plays a part. Particularly when trying to launch and "lag".

A tune or peddal commander would more than likley clear the air. Otherwise lead foot it!

Even in sport mode, I usually brake boost to get a little more boost built up. Especially for cornering.
