Transmission fluid flush and refill

Ford Dealer wants $350 for a transmission flush and refill on a 2024 Hybrid
1. Does $350 seem like a reasonable price to do this?
2. Would letting a transmission shop do this void any warranties?
3. Would a drain and refill be a better option?

Drain and fill - only. 5qt bottle of Motorcraft is ~$50. Do it yourself.

I considered this but due to some mobility issues I don't feel comfortable trying to remove all the parts and pieces that you need to to get to the fill tube. I think it requires removing the air boxing and some other stuff. Am I correct on this?

hit up YouTube on this. Jack the front, take off the driver's side tire to better access the fill port. As for the drain, yes, the fiber pan on the bottom must be removed, like when doing an oil & filter change.

But you appear to have a hybrid.
Refill/level plug on side behind left tire - can be reached with tire turned.
5 min warmup after the new is added.
Removing hairy cardboard shield probably be the most difficult part.
Just confirm when you get down to ground (which could be worse) - you bring everything down with you.
So a pump or loooong neck funnel is needed.

I just had a local shop do a drain & refill on my EB/8-speed, it was $170 labor, I supplied the fluid. A little more than I'd like, but the dealer was at $382 for a flush & fill.

For the shade tree DIY types, that is an outrageous price, but if that is a OTD price including fluid costs, $350 is not that bad when most dealership shop labor rates are around $200 to $220 an hour.

I always enjoy the "do it yourself" replies to someone asking if the price to have it done is too high. I used to do ALL of my vehicle maintenance out of necessity. The work hours and travel made free time to do it worth MORE than the labor charge for my wife to take it and have it done. As the OP said some people have mobility issues, eye sight issues, or other health reasons for NOT wanting to crawl under a vehicle. Also at this point in time I don't have the tools any longer to do the work after downsizing and selling almost everything after my wife passed. If you can do it and enjoy doing it that's great but some of us don't or can't.

Fair enough. OP asked about a drain and fill. Lowest cost is ~$50 versus $350 dealer quote. Independents can do much better. Mobility: I have 1 arm, 1 eye, rods in my back and I still get around the garage, albeit slowly. To each their own., and YMMV

Drain and fill only, never flush. Yes, it can be done at a non dealer shop and still retain all warranties.

I just did a drain and refill at Ford dealership. It was $168.75 for my 2022 Ecoboost 2.0 liter AWD truck. I have FX4 option so that includes removing the skid plate.

Unless you are doing heavy Towing hybrid eCVT transmission fluid only needs to be changed at 150,000 miles.

Ford recommends changing the hybrid eCVT transmission fluid at 150,000 miles under normal conditions.

• Normal Driving (Ford Official): 150,000 miles.
• Severe Duty / Heavy Towing: 30,000 to 65,000 miles (if regularly pushing near the max load or high heat).

Too many dealer service departments quote unnecessary fluid changes to boost their income.
