Looks like Ford did a better job than most integrating controls into the touch screen, but I still consider it regressive, same with turning the gauges into a screen, too. The gauges on the 22-24 hybrid are honestly a beautifully simple marriage of traditional gauges with a power gauge that actually tells you what's going on with the hybrid system, and a small LCD with useful info. The HVAC controls would be perfect too if they had just changed the middle to a third dial for manual vent control or auto.

Just wish they had kept it the same (except the third HVAC dial), and maybe just made the infotainment screen bigger by deleting the cubby and scrunching the audio controls some. Screens are cheaper than buttons, dials and gauges now though, so that's what we get.

Wow! Your truck needed a new engine? That's unfortunate.
Indeed. Hybrid Engine CSP 23N06 Long Block Replacement at 39,000 miles.

The good news is I now have a 2022 with 2000 miles, on the motor, and got a free 3 yr/36,000 mile extended warranty from Ford.

I've noticed that a lot of people complaining about the lack of physical climate control knobs or buttons on the 2025 Maverick. They primarily come from those who don't own a 2025. Am I the only one that was pleasantly surprised at how simple the touch screen controls are? The fact that they are always visible seems to make all the difference. I like the fact that I don't have to scroll through a menu. What do you guys think concerning the touch screen only climate controls? Were you pleasantly surprised too?
You don't have to own one to know the difference. Physical controls can be manipulated with muscle memory. Can't do that with a screen.

if given the choice, i would much rather physical controls. I've only driven the truck ~400 miles so far and maybe theyll grow on me eventually. I don't hate them, but every time I've used them I wished they were physical hvac controls. The upside is that it will be nice to set the temp from my phone via remote start.

I just don't like talking to my car. 😂. It's nice to be able to do so. But it's more of a novelty. I used to voice command "Bluetooth audio" on my 2012 focus only because it was a cumbersome to navigate the controls. I didn't even have a touch screen. I think it was SYNC 2. BUTin a car with an intuitive touch screen and climate controls as the Maverick, To be honest, voice command is more distracting than the touch screen. Maybe im just old 😂
I can't fathom ever talking to my car and it is a last resort. I hardly agree that my '24 Lariat's touch screen is intuitive; I hate my radio/entertainment system; changing the source button never takes on the first attempt, using the radio presets is luck if you get what you tried to initially, don't even bother with the slider, it takes so many attempts that it's a good thing I have lane keep/centering, ACC and AEB! These are not just luxuries, Ford has made them safety necessities. I'm not even talking about the new HVAC controls, rarely use those anyway. Give me physical buttons or there won"t be another new vehicle for me.
Maybe, I'm just old too!

Voice control is a great option for those whiny people who can use a button on the dash, but not a button on a screen. Buttons on the bottom of the screen work well, as does the touchless voice control. The 2025 is my preference, I don't want the old setup. Or crank up windows.

We were men once,
I could stretch over and hand crank that passenger window up at 80 mph.

I used to walk to school up hill,
Both ways, :XD

Whatever I don’t like about the HVAC is quickly made up for with Sync 4. Cannot fathom going back to CTR or Sync 3

So many things that I had read on here and the FB groups that I thought might annoy me don’t. This was one of them, it is a non issue with me. They are always showing/present, it’s basically almost the same as physical buttons. As someone else said looks much cleaner.
Other things I read before purchasing a 25 XLT hybrid that I thought might bother me. The radio/audio and speakers (for XL and XLT). I guess the Synch 4 system delivers more power but it really isn’t bad at all. Dash rattling and outside noise, it doesn’t seem to be a problem with mine (coming from a 2006 Tundra though).

I have a 23 XLT and prefer the physical climate controls but was in my brother's

I've found that as long as there's a ledge to rest/register your other fingers on, the bottom row buttons on a touch screen are fine to use. Without a ledge, using a touch interface is frustrating, especially on anything other than glass smooth roads or at a standstill.

Hard to beat the last generation Mustang gauges though.

I don’t know you can set the display to the 90s SVT cobra white or the fox body gauges!

I have a 2024 Maverick I bought in October and was weighing waiting for the 2025 at the time. The lack of climate controls were one of a handful of reasons I chose the '24, I didn't want to wait 5 months and find out I hated them. I just spent a week in Maine with a few friends driving a Bronco Sport with the controls on the touch screen and all of us didn't care for it. We had to have the passenger handle climate duty because we all found it very distracting to have to find it on the screen vs tactile controls. I'm sure with time I would adjust and get used to them, but after having my screen freeze one time where I had to pull over, turn off my car and restart it, I know that I have zero use for any controls to exist only on a touch screen.

I was a little bit concerned about the lack of physical controls as well. But I got used to it very quickly and it is very user friendly. It is not like there are 6 steps involved to change the temperature or the fan speed. I use the voice command on a regular basis for the temperature as well as the radio station. I barely use the rest of the other controls. Just the size of the display made up for everything and not having the useless cubby.
