I do know about lithium fires, nothing to like about them. They have happened. Some day sodium based batteries will be the ones to take the lead in ever changing battery tech. A Chinese company is said they will have them out in 2024 or 2025. https://www.catl.com/en/news/6013.html
Beloved statistics? No, they are not precious or dear to me, just statistics. You are just as capable as I am to do some digging. I do love my Mav and my Tesla though.

Despite their lower energy density and cycle life, Na-ion batteries are safer and perform better in a wide operational temperature range. They work on a similar principle to Li-ion cells and are expected to be at least 20% cheaper than LFP due to the fact that they are lithium-free.Feb 21, 2023

AND almost off topic..this> https://insideevs.com/news/682472/e...ZHNzm-rYUEfnw2GJ8yXSZp66bbahC_4nHUlYdDOiyhseM

A number of these factories are already in existence with more coming.
One thing to consider when comparing BEV, Hybrids and ICE vehicles.
I guarantee you that normal maintenance and repairs have to be done by much more specially trained technicians when working on BEV and Hybrid cars. Your run of the mill ICE car could be worked on by someone much less qualified. This variable would be very nice to know when discussing subjects like vehicle fires and other problems that all three types could possibly share.

but how many catch fire when parked? I am not sure how long this Mav was parked before the fire started
Parked all evening. Engine was cold.

God help us then. When I was trying to describe the TSB 22-2340 no-start/no-crank issue to my purchasing dealership's service department, I described that I could measure ~12.6V at the underseat battery terminals, but only ~1-3V at the underhood jump terminal location. The service advisor said his "Ford-certified hybrid expert" said that wasn't a problem or significant and that I didn't have the harness issue (which plagued me another six months).

Specially trained. :ROFLMAO:

Hey dude, some small town dealerships won’t work on hybrids because of their techs not being certified on them.

No, I get the safety issue, I have worked in industrial electrical environments and understand the dangers of high-voltage. I was just pointing out that my experience with a "specially trained" hybrid expert was lackluster. Not from the safety standpoint, rather his troubleshooting skills at a very basic level which I described.

But I certainly understand your point.

A relative of a relative? Seen this similar post on Facebook posted but the nephew of an aunts uncle.

I believe everything on the internet. The only thing I’m sure of is “like” chasing is real.
I don't post bullshit. You didn't see the video? Your welcome to be skeptical, but it happened.

this thread, predictably, has gone off the deep end. maybe if you learn more info about your uncle's Maverick you can just post a new thread about that?

Obviously you haven't even read the post. It's not my uncle's truck.

A couple of years ago I hurt my knee and couldn’t do my own oil changes. I took our C-Max to the local dealer to get it done, part of their service includes an air filter check (so they can try to sell you an air filter when not necessary)😡 I had to laugh when I picked it up and the paperwork had a big ❌ where the tech usually noted a air filter check. Next to the X he had written “hybrid”. The C-Max had a little bit more involved process for changing it out. I’m glad they left it alone but also felt uneasy thinking about the skill level of their oil change tech. Six months later I was back to doing all my maintenance again 😊.

I did, and I watched the video, but I did not refer back to it just now before posting that. :cautious: Whatever, man.
