Yes, I owned a 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber. It was Yellow with a lot of decals and ground effects. It was really a cool looking car for the times.

I don't remember the exact details, but I traded the Maverick in for a 1973 Ford Mustang 351C Convertible. I only had the Mustang for about a year before the Air Force transferred me to Guam. I sold the Mustang within a few days after I received the transfer orders for two thousand dollars more than I paid for it. A lot of folks were bidding for the car because Ford had just brought out the Mustang II. No one really liked the Mustang II.

I'm the oddball, the Mustang II is my favorite version of the car, also known as the Charlie's Angels Mustangs.

It was only my favorite when one or more of Charlie's Angels were in it... With any of the three Angels onboard, it was a very attractive vehicle. Otherwise it was distinctly uninspiring.

Any classic maverick owners here besides me??
Many Maverick car club forums hate the truck name and are pissed about the name.
I find them agnst ridden gearheads . I like the truck, name or not, I have mine due in tis week and can't wait to drive my 73 maverick to pick up my 22 maverick.
Do you tow your maverick with your maverick to a maverick car show so you can show of your maverick(s)? Just wondering

You can only imagine how James Garner (serious car guy/racer and sometimes actor) is rolling in his grave, having Ford steal his television identity for a car, SUV and small pickup.

72 Grabber.
I wish someone would duplicate the Black stripe to fit the New Maverick. I like the way it goes over the wheel wells.

Sweet! My first car was the 73 in green. It had a great but weak 200 ci straight 6 engine. Seeing the car turn into a truck is a little odd but I’ll get used to it.
My older brother's first new car was a 1971 Maverick Grabber with the 302 c.u. engine, don't recall if it was 3-speed or 4-speed on the floor? It was blue with, if I remember right, silver decals.

I had a ‘74 Maverick Grabber. White with orange stripes; 6 cylinder, 3 speed floor shifter. Loved it, had the dog dish hub caps and trim rings on the steelies.

I had a 76 Comet, the Mercury version of the old Maverick. The hood went on forever, haha. It was a fun car to drive in good weather, but just a sled in the snow. My sister ended up sliding off an overpass in a snowstorm and totalling it. Thankfully she was ok.

It was an awful flat baby blue paint. Gawd I hated most of the 70's paint colors.
I had the bile green "vomit comet" ...not a chick magnet

I never owned one of the old Mavericks but I helped build many thousands of them when I worked at the Ford kansas City assembly plant.
Maybe you built my Nana's. Which I inherited when she passed and it my first car. My fraternity brothers LOVED our road trips in THAT car !
