It has been resting in the cold garage for two days. Are the tire pressure too high?

The trucks are intentionally shipped with higher tire pressure. If the truck is new the dealer may not have prepped it correctly.

I'd gauge them first but they look about 6 pounds high. Gonna need a tire gauge if you don't have one already...

Same here about 38 for winter due to colder temperatures.

Higher (by a few) is great in WET (mild weather wet) as it will help the tires cut through water and not hydroplane. 41 is also better for a heavily loaded truck.

If you live in sub-freezing conditions, higher can often be a disadvantage and you should lower to sticker settings.

IIRC, the tires are aired up to 41 PSI at the factory for shipping. Once the truck arrives at the dealership, they are supposed to adjust the tire pressure to 35 PSI

in winter in PA I inflate to 35psi (TPMS matches my Gage exactly) and after about 50 miles the pressure indicated by TMPS averages 39-40. Now in spring on a cold 30-40f morning all indication are 35 but anything over 50f OAT indication is 38 and after 10miles they are at 40 psi. So for summer I need to reduce the pressure for a normal cold 60f morning but as soon as we get another 30f overnight the pressure will be low.

Check the load range and pressure recommendation shown on the sidewall of your tires. Radial tires handle best when they are inflated within 2 to 3 psi with each other. My old F250 has different psi recommended for back and front. I run different steer tires and load tires. Pressure is set based on sidewall spec. I will never put that much load my little Maverick.
You were good until you started talking about the "pressure shown on the tires."

If you think Ford doesn't know what kind of replacement tires you put on their trucks, wait until you hear that Michelin doesn't even know what kind of vehicle you're putting their tires on...

I have never once seen any kind of "recommendation" or range of pressures on a tire sidewall other than the MAX recommended pressure, and that is in no way a goal.

Stick to a pressure near what is on the placard on the door. That is what both the vehicle manufacturer AND the tire manufacturer recommend.

Deleted my post. You were correct on inflate to xx not being on sidewall. I have been working on big tires and heavy duty trailer tires for too long. Thanks for correcting my post.
