It was a very early production Maverick that they got in December of 2021 which could account for some of the problems.
With that history I would have bought an extended warranty before it hit 36k miles while I could if I wanted to keep it.
If I had a Maverick with that many unresolved...
A couple of things to add which are mostly pure speculation on my part.
1) Transportation has been a big constraint and is also scheduled far in advance and involves multiple components like space on trains, space in rail yards, and a truck and driver to deliver it from the final railyard to...
I was curious and did some Google searches to see what the size was and the length of the F-150 varies a lot depending on the configuration.
The length of the Ford Maverick is 199.7 inches. I had to go back to 1996 to find a F-150 which was shorter and in that year they were between 197.1...
The first problem with that is the Maverick has unibody construction and not body on frame so it is more of an SUV with a bed than a conventional pickup truck. There is nothing wrong with that for some needs but trying to add all those other features to it would be sort of a "lipstick on a pig"...
People have posted pictures of hauling lots of crazy long things but even if it legal it would be better to bite the bullet and buy something like a flatbed utility trailer or get a boat rack which will allow the boat to be loaded over the cab.
As bad as the injuries sound there is a good chance that their new Maverick did better in the crash than whatever car they had before the Maverick.
The Maverick has 7 airbags but for us the old Tacoma it replaced only had 2.
FYI, if you buy the Ford extended warranty you can use the Ford Pass points that you get when you buy a Maverick to save around $200.
I decided to get a Ford extended warranty and here is the post that I did about my reasoning in deciding to buy it...
I am in a similar situation with my Ecoboost and I decided to buy an extended warranty because the cost of a 10 year low mileage extended warranty is not all that high. . I posted about it a few days ago giving my reasoning...
The hybrid will likely be on a recall hold until at least the fourth quarter of the year. It was announced yesterday and there is a long thread about it.
My impression is that the Mavericks headlights are better than the 2006 Tacoma it is replacing and a Corolla I used to own but not nearly as good as a 2021 Forester Limited that we have.
The Foresters headlights even focus and turn left and right as you go around curves. If the Maverick does...
I would be interest too.
At 30K miles it would be good to decide if an extended warranty might make sense if your are going to to keep it longer. You can still buy one up to when you hit 36k miles and the full warranty ends.
In this crazy market you can also likely sell it for a decent...
Can I expect 10 years of reliable service from 2.0 EB Maverick?
It really depends on the miles you will be driving. One thing to look at is how much a 10 year extended warranty would cost for different mileage coverage.
