I guess those of us who have had no issues, and only great experiences, should post more often...😅

But I get it, ya gotta do what lets you sleep at night. 🙂

To each their own. Personally, I wouldn't use any truck less than a Super Duty for plowing. An old Grizzly would be better suited!
I only do my own driveway and I've used a Jeep Wrangler for that. You just have to understand the equipment and not let a storm get too far ahead of it. With a Ranger, 3-4" would be the limit before starting to plow, maybe 2" if it's a heavy snow. Then, don't try to push too much; take 1/2 cuts if necessary.

Trading in a maverick with 15k miles for an 2019 ranger with more miles, I would have expected the dealer to cough up more cash on the side.

As for the total loss, that's what insurance is for. So much equity in the 22/23 maybe 24 mavericks. Anybody who hits me your insurance company is going to hate your guts.
Don't forget that we're talking wholesale (Maverick) vs. retail (Ranger).

The price on the Ranger is $23.5K. Trade-in value on the Maverick is $22.6K Then there is doc fee ($499.00), sales tax (90.75), RMV ($100) and state inspection ($35). Out the door, with all fees included, was where the $1677.75 came from.

The trade-in value was lower than I would have liked, but it's in line with other dealers in the area (I did get them up $600 on the trade allowance). I also avoided $1412..50 in MA state sales tax because of the trade-in credit. So, effectively, I got $24K for the Maverick.

it took one week shy of a year to get my 2022 hybrid lariat. I drove it 44K with an overall average of 40+mpg. I took it to the dealer twice (Sunset Ford) for recalls and they gave me a free loaner. I loved that truck so much but when FORD offered the AWD version this year, I had to sacrifice it. My new Maverick is on its way now:) The Maverick met all my needs and i used the bed many times. Considering I drove a YUKON at an average of 14MPG the Maverick practically paid for itself. I kept the YUKON but very rarely drive it. I believe the Maverick will prove to be a very reliable low maintenance vehicle able to sustain high milage, with proper care and maintenance.

The 19 Ranger sounds expensive especially at 56k miles and your 22 Maverick only has 15k miles. Entry level loaner Rangers would be around low $30s. I have seen F-150 STX for high $30s and XLT for mid $40s. Those F-150 are 2k-4k mile loaners with 4WD.
I believe you, but that's probably just the difference in markets between Texas and MA. Every decently equipped Ranger I found with under 30K miles was $30-35K with no movement on price from the dealers. I also saw that extended cabs above the XL level are unicorns around here.

The same dealer had a 2021 crew cab XLT with the same equipment list and only 25K miles. It was $10K more and I didn't want to spend that much.

If I have to do anything involving a plow, I'm moving even farther South than I am now.
:)

Other than the Hyundai SC, the Maverick is the only new truck that will fit in my garage. And I'm glad the Maverick has designed in crumple zones, like most modern unibody vehicles. It's better the truck gets totaled while absorbing the impact of a crash than the occupants.

I will, I'm sure. You may want to reread the post, though.
Nah, I'm good. The whole purpose of a goodbye post like this really escapes me, so a re-read of it is unneeded.

When I stop coming here one day, I'm just gonna stop. No goodbye post. No posting retrospective. No closing credits. No deep stage bow. No cake. Just...gone.

Enjoy plowing your driveway with your $20k+ snow shovel.

Explaining the use case reasons first and then adding potential issues toward then end would probably lead to less caustic replies.

you guys get enough snow in CT to need a plow on the regular? you have an extra long driveway? I'm way further north than you and I think I got the snowblower out 2-3 times last winter. when I was a kid we used to get actual snow storms.....

lol... I thought the whole point of having a 4WD/AWD was to avoid shovels & plows? It has to get pretty damn deep before I get the tractor out 😂

GREAT CHOICE! you will love your 2019 Ranger!!! I still miss mine tremendously!! If you flash a Livernois tune on that Ranger you will be EXTREMELY impressed with the power....I promise.
I ran mine hard for 86K with that tune and it never missed a beat.....traded in at 106K and she was still running like a new truck....

My 22 was good but the recall on the air bag did me in. Headliner and A-pillar cover needed to be removed and I saw too may horror stories on the headliners getting smudges and not getting reinstalled correctly. I traded it in (without performing the recall work)on a 23 Bronco that I had ordered way back in July 2020. However after daily driving the Bronco for about 6 months, I went ahead and got into a 24 Maverick (I still have my Bronco). As a commuter car, the Maverick is great.

The side airbag recall is what really destroyed my faith in Ford. My local dealer destroyed the dash, multiple pillar plastic pieces, and left out two nuts that were supposed to hold these razor blades. That could have killed me and/or my passengers.

Ford took 2-3 months from my first call to corporate to fix this at another dealer, despite multiple pictures and screenshots from their service manual showing the issue. I will never buy another Ford.

I would place the blame on the dealer, not Ford. However, I certainly understood why you will not buy another Ford...
