Yes.
It is laggy when active and takes much longer to show up when R is selected in my 2024 XL compared to our 2023 Lariat.

I use the mirrors in my XL because I don't trust the camera to give reliable information.

2022 XL Hybrid. I will get sporadic messages that the camera fails to operate. Turn off engine and restart, camera functions normally.

There are Two types of "lag"- the startup lag, which we do experience frequently (when starting the truck and immediately putting it into reverse), and

"camera to screen lag"- sometimes the picture on the screen is delayed about a half of a second. Not every time, just sometimes.

I have owned my 2023 XLT EB AWD since January 2023. I currently have 13750 miles.

I concur with @AutobahnSHO that there are two kinds of delay: one if the Maverick is put in reverse shortly after starting it and an occasional lag with the camera displaying the feed.

I have also experienced a complete failure (the rear camera's feed fails to display) three times. In all three cases, it happened after I started the car, plugged in my smartphone, and began reversing the truck. I don't worry about it since I am not used to using backup cameras. It seems to reset the next time I drive the car.

If there are any questions about updates, I check for updates weekly, and my Maverick has had all applicable recalls done.

Hope that helps, and thank you for working with the NHTSA.

I am proof that NHTSA pays attention when you take five minutes of your time to create an issue online. Some months ago I posted a report that my rear view camera was occasionally laggy. It sometimes didn't display for several seconds, and it sometimes froze for a second or two while backing up. Most of the time it works fine (and I said that in my report). It's a small issue, but when the camera doesn't come up for a few seconds - but that's long enough to run over a kid or somebody's pet. So I reported it and moved on. I figured nothing would come of it.

Anyway, I've been contacted by an NHTSA investigative engineer and I plan to answer his request for more information tomorrow. I'd love to include any factual information from others on MTC. If your backup camera is perfect, feel free to let me know. If you've experienced lagginess now and then, I'd love to know that too.

Sad that I have to say this, but this is MTC. Kindly keep it civil.

Also, this thread will be irrelevant on 3 July 2024. By that time I'll have communicated back to the investigating engineer.
2024 lariat Fx4 a little laggy sometimes ( like the transmission when you first drive in the morning - till she warms up)

Ford‘s had camera issues on other vehicles. Recall on my Explorer recently replaced camera and wiring for intermittent blue screen. Took over a year for them to get parts.
Blue screen made realize how much I’d gotten to rely on the camera.
if they (NHTSA) don’t hear about the issue it won’t get fixed.

22 XLT Hybrid, yes its laggy, especially when reversing more than 20' to the point where I have to stop and let the camera catch up. Another issue is when the tailgate is lowered then the camera is useless. This is a design flaw.

fyi I use my side mirrors for the most part but the last few feet when parking close to an object is when we need the camera and thats when its laggy

Instead of running over the kids, you could have waited a few second for it to come up.
Just a thought.

24 XL Hybrid. Occasional freezing and lagging. Usually less than 1 second. Not really worrisome as I drive cautiously and use all 3 mirrors in addition to the camera.

22 XLT Hybrid. Have had it not come on for a good 15-20 seconds and have also experienced lag.

Uhuh. I don't see that lag at all on mine with stock programming. Have you changed the software timing by screwing with the programming in Forscan? Why would I help you try to screw over the best truck on the market over an incredibly small issue on yours?

Thanks for reminding me to make a report. Many times I can back almost all the way out of a spot before the camera comes on. Saturday night my screen froze with maps up, and the reverse camera did not work at all until I let the truck sit until morning.
