This trim seal strip seems to have fixed my dash rattle.

"Oh boy that sounds suggestive..."

Could've been worse. You might have needed a crowbar...

Wonder if impedes the front edge of a dashboard mat? It might actually help it stay put.

Wishing you guys the best, drove it again and it was still being much quieter than that used to be. I pushed it basically flat so you basically don't even notice it. It sticks up a lot less than how it looks in that photo.

God knows I've called it too early with a lot of things, and who knows, maybe the rattle comes back a week from now. But early impressions are promising.

I have a dashboard mat. I think the weather strip would actually be underneath the dash mat.. I'll know soon enough I've got one in my shopping cart.
My dash mat has NO Velcro, NO sticky tape on it and it has no problem staying in place even with the windows open.

I had this noise in my [new in 22] '22EB although I don't think it was specific only to the EB. It is more like a rumble than a rattle.

Ford TSB 24-2317 addresses this. Do a search "Ford service bulletin to solve Maverick dash noise" and you will find it

The rumble noise is the defrost vent against the dash. Hence the noise seems to come from in front of the windshield area and it does.

The kit consists of a rubber block several inches long with adhesive on one side and instructions to take a razor knife and custom cut a wedge to place between the defrost vent and the underside of the dash where the two meet. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe before placing the adhesive side of the wedge against the defrost vent.

Access for the passenger side is easy - removing the glove box. Access to the driver's side was removing the lower steering wheel shroud and somehow getting your fingers up past all the wiring...

My rattle goes away in the summer. Tried this last winter and it helped for a few days and then made no difference. I had the TSB done last winter and it made it worse. Good luck.

I decided I didn't want to take my maverick to the dealership over the rattle, too many horror stories from people.
Counterpoint: it's under warranty. It's a workmanship problem. Ford/the dealer should fix it, and fix it and fix it correctly.

My 25 Hybrid XLT developed a rattle around the instrument cluster. I had the dealer correct this around 5k miles. They spent 2 hours and multiple test drives to find and fix it. The manufacturer provides kits of foam blocks and rubber stripping of various sizes and densities for this very purpose.

Horror stories stand out on Reddit and here, but they are not the rule, they are the exception.

While I'm glad this strip solved your problem, it would drive me insane to look at that every time I got in the truck.

Well, that’s one solution to “the rattle”. I seen this before, but never had anyone to say it solved the problem. And if a long term fix. Hopefully OneAlien will put some time of this fix, later report if success or not. I do plan to get it, give it a try. If not resolve rsttle, at least keeps bugs and/or dirt out. LoL

And waste more time? No thanks. There are times you cut your losses. A seasonal rattle is one of them.

Having all this info is great! It is the main reason I joined this forum. It seems that alot of these issues remain secret or hidden from customers. Thanks.
