The steering wheel heats up very quickly on my Lariat. It gets warm in under one minute and toasty in about two. We love the fact that the settings for climate are remembered so the heated steering wheel and seats come back on the next time the vehicle is started.

Mmmmm... for that instant diarrhea pants feeling! 😜

Lol, honestly want to love it, but when I get in my wifes car with heated seats that is always my thought. She turns the passenger seat on by default and like 5 minutes into the ride I'm thinking... "Did I loose control of my bowels? Ohh yeah, heated seats, this is nice.. I think 🤔".

seeing these images is fascinating. they also made me wonder for hybrids whether the power drain on the hybrid system is more or less than what one would expect from using the HVAC system to heat passenger compartment? also what happens to battery drain and MPG whenever one or both are used?

If I was a Ford engineer, you best bet I’d be writing my name out with those seat heater coils. Or maybe a smiley face. Or both. Only to never be seen by anyone except clever dudes with thermal cameras 😁
i get it, like software & game programmers hiding 'easter eggs' somewhere in the code or game :)

It does cycle on and off after hitting peak temperature, kind of like a rear window defroster. I find pushing the button off and turning it back on helps get around this.
I figured this was the case, just never noticed it before on any other vehicle.

maybe this winter take more pictures after a 10 min drive with the seats on to see how it diffuses? but this is very cool to see!!
Maybe you could take some TI pictures of you back and butt too after sitting in the seats - for science🤣

The Hybrid HVAC is NOT used to heat the passenger compartment.

In the Hybrid it is the heat from the ICE engine that is used to heat the passenger compartment.

Fun to see, thanks for sharing!

Take that bad boy (camera) out into the woods and look for Big Foot!

Yeah, I love the heated steering wheel especially.... if I could only have one heated thing in a car, it would be that. 🤠

Can we take some of these thermal photos of a Hybrid Engine with the recall pending? Still don't fully understand how they catch fire while the engine is cold.
