The amount of cracked windshields is absurd.

Ive been driving 25 years and in the 2 years I’ve had my maverick I’ve had more windshield cracks then the previous 23 years. I’m on my 2nd windshield but the first one had 2 repairs before I replaced it. I finally had to replace it because I got another crack on a road trip and couldn’t get it repaired in time before it spread. Now on my 2nd windshield I have 2 repairs which luckily I was able to repair before they spread.
I even bought the hood deflector which hasn’t done anything to help.
What is it about this vehicle that attracts rocks?

Just luck. I broke 3-4 the first year I started send my 15 f150 then it made it another 340k without one single broken screen.

It's industry wide, not just Ford. I order 10x the glass now than I used to 10 years ago. Worst place for the manufacturers to try and save vehicle weight. You can really tell when you get a glass for a newer car over an older one. About a 10-15 pound difference.

I heard the same thing from the Safelite Tech, who repaired the chip in my windshield.

Already went through one windshield. Got a rock hit RIGHT behind the blacked out assembly above the rear view mirror. Formed a crack instantly from the cat eye. My comprehensive coverage covered it no issue. Just a nuisance. I think if it didn't hit RIGHT there, the rock probably bounces. But that's the weird spot where there's support behind the windshield that makes it unable to absorb impact and disperse it.

I think it's just chance. I had an Audi A4 that somehow went through 4 windshields in the 10 years that I had it, and I had a Tacoma that got a chip with only 400 miles on it never spread or got another chip over the next 9 years. My Maverick's been fine over 2 years. Probably also varies greatly on the road you drive -- when I had the Audi I was commuting 90 miles every day; when I had the truck I was driving it on trips and on weekends/errands.

I think Aeroskin made a deal with Ford/windshield manufacturers to stop making it

My Lariat windshield is pitted after 21k and 2.5 years. Not even cracks. Just Ford quality.

I’ve got one small chip and now a big hole in my windshield. Sounded like I get hit by a ball bearing, it was very loud! I need to contact my insurance company and see what they want to do about it. Ugh.

In Florida, if you carry full coverage windshields are 100% covered, call agent and go to "Safelight", speaking from experience with our Allstate insurance company.

Yeah, but looks like they opted out of making it anyway...which sucks. Much preferred it to the current design.
