Well I just had this happen to my Acoustic windshield on my Maverick. I don't see any rock pits either. Yesterday I started hearing what sounded like a dash rattle. Then today, while stopped at the gate to show my ID, I hear a pop like a balloon. At first I thought something fell in back, then I see a footlong crack that appeared out of the blue. WTH? In all the cars I have owned/driven over the years I have never had something like that happen. Passenger side, mine started at the top though. I hate to think if it was a rock that this would be the result, because i've taken some direct hits with big rocks and never had a window crack like that, let alone one that wasn't big enough to pit it out. I told the dealer that I expect it will be covered under warranty, but I wont know until the 23rd when I take it in.
