Perhaps he took the truck to a dealer, the loaner car they gave him is a convertible, he put the top down, drove home, got out, locked the doors, realized that he left the keys in the ignition, and can't get to them.

It COULD happen.
Stupid posts like this and people are wondering why OP is not posting. I feel for the guy. Grow up people.

Who pulls into a parking spot with enough momentum that if the brakes totally failed the vehicle would continue over a curb and into a building? Just saying.
Maybe the Early Bird Special was set to expire in only minutes...

Thank you, Bob.
When you do something stupid, like push the BREAK pedal all the way down and then find out it was the gas pedal, expect stupid posts. Like mine.

Yeah, sure. Probably never entered your mind to cut the guy some slack and show some grace and class. Everybody makes mistakes but that is not even been proven yet has it?? But you are welcome. I enjoy calling out stupidity every time it enters my life.

C’mon guys, can’t we just get along? We don’t even know each other, let’s just accept everyone’s opinion and leave it at that. And you, Slingshot, it’s “Brakes”, just kidding, I gotcha 👍🏻

No you didn't

Why do YOU think in his post "SLINGSHOT" typed the word BREAK all in capital letters, which had to be a conscious decision?
Actually the OP "OldSarg" was back on the forum last Sunday and edited his First post. Correcting the misspelling of the word BRAKE.

Umm… never mind, from previous posts regarding “breaks” and “brakes” I’m kinda thinking that you don’t quite understand, oh well, let’s move on.

I am always amazed that people who don't know the usage and spelling of common English words can afford a new car. The BRAKE and BREAK twins seem to confuse a LOT of people. Are they dumb or just don't give a damn?

I fall victim to this a lot
Using voice recognition I either speak too quickly or it does not recognize the correct word, because I may have mumbled it.
That is why I have a lot of edits within my postings, such as this one.
As I go back and reread what I posted. I see where it needs to be corrected, either punctuation or composition.
Both of my thumbs have fused joints and a little arthritis. Therefore I use voice recognition a lot.
One of these days I may even download grammarly.

Has anyone thought about the fact that the OP might have been advised not to discuss this until the insurance/police/courts figures out if it was driver error or manufacturer defect? I would imagine there is a significant claim between the damage to the vehicle and the two shops.

Agreed, leave him alone for a while, if he comes back, it was meant to be! Let’s all change the subject to proper English until such time, or ANYTHING else, please!! 🎄🍺

I suppose, but that would not preclude him from just dropping by and saying hey I can't talk about it.
Such as others have.

Too long. 13 pages. Didn't read past page 1.

However, this did happen to me first drive after I had the 12 v battery out of the truck overnight.

Damn computers have to "relearn" stuff. I assumed. Been fine since.
