I tried to get Mabett and Maxzina to make some interior protection to the interior floor sill which Maxzina announced they just did, thank you. Now we need the door lower kick panels, glove box, and the pillar where the seatbelt rides up when you take it off. So far they don't seem to want to do it. I hope in the future they consider it.

Yes, the interiors are shit on these trucks. I have two dogs which doesn't help, but my truck is less than 2 years old and was scratched up to hell within 2 or 3 months of owning. The 2018 Rav4 I sold for the Maverick looked almost brand new inside after 5 years. If you just look at the glove box the wrong way it will get scratched.

Yep, agree with the interiors on Fords. Had an 80k Expedition from Enterprise that rattled more than my Maverick. I'd be livid if it were mine. 🤭

Imo, because the price is so low on the Maverick and because the change in price is tiny between the trims compared to an F-150, there's just not enough money to make the plastics better in the higher trims. And yet, some folks (including myself) had an expectation that the Lariat would be significantly nicer than the XL. In my opinion, it's not, and it was an unfair expectation.
I'm just conditioned to accept the cheapness that is Ford for the interiors. To me, it has actually become more acceptable with Ford because other manufacturers have started to follow suit with hard plastics everywhere.

I would be 100% okay with the Maverick interior if it didn't scratch. The materials used to me would not be an issue if they weren't soft as triple ply charmin and not to the touch - it's more like Angel Soft that crumbles when you need it most.....

This is nothing new for Ford though and not specific to the Maverick. They may have taken a few extra liberties here they may not have with an F-Series but it all tracks.

Ford makes a comfortable seat that makes it a decent place to hang out and a banger HVAC system that can keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I fit well in Fords. Dad hates them. Drives Chevrolet and I'll admit his newest Tahoe Premiere walks the dog with an Expedition interior but I can't get comfortable in it for driving.

Ford interiors are cheap across the board. You'll find the same hard, easily scratched materials in $85k Expeditions and $110k Bronco Raptors.

@bgn loves to say the $42k truck was built to the $21,500 price point but that is true of almost every model in America. The F-150 has been on sale since 2021 and had a base price of $29,995 so every F-150 above $30,000 was built to the $30,000 price point.
My ford Edge Limited interior has a much better Fit and Finish. The Plastic is a better quality does not scratch nearly as easy as my 2025 Maverick Lariat. The Leather (of some type) is a higher quality than the Maverick Lariat Seats.

Maverick is a "Value" based Vehicle at all trim levels. I have what I expected and my Lariat will serve my purpose and with relative comfort.

I can find the same plastic in 85k f series. Like you, I’m content with my Lariat.

I read so much about this issue I installed a dash cover that I installed right after I took delivery and will keep adding protection at the door and kick panels to help as much as possible

I think I would rather take my chances at NOT scratching the dash. Sorry, just doesn't do much for looks.

I’ve noticed the plastic on dashboard and console area scratches SOOOOO easily. Literally a light graze with a nail with hardly any pressure will scratch it.

I guess I can accept this since I got an XL base model. But do they also use cheap soft plastic on the Lariats and Lobos? Can anyone confirm this?
I've had my truck for about 9 months and 6000 miles and don't have a scratch anywhere on the truck. I'm not sure how you guys scratch the dash?

My dash cover is more about protecting It from the Florida Sun I don’t use it as a shelf like those in the service and construction may do…

I was trying to get a smudge off the dashboard and used my nail to gently scratch it off. Same way I would with ANY plastic. Damn thing left a scratch on it. I was like WTH?

You 100% have scratches on your center console by the cup holders, on your drivers seat - the plastic piece where the bottom cushion meets the seat back where you slide in and out of the car, on the b pillar where your seatbelt hits, and along your drivers door sil.

Close up pics of these high traffic high scratch areas or….you have them like the rest of us!

Your Ford Edge has leather seats.
The Maverick Lariat uses Ford's trademark ActiveX.
Ford's ActiveX seating material is made from recycled plastic bottles and is fully synthetic. It's sometimes called "pleather" or "leatherette" because it looks and feels like leather.

Do I? I don't see any? Yes, bottom door sill has scratches, just like every other car I have ever owned. No scratches at the seat belt, seat cushions, etc.

The Lariats have the same plastic panels as the XL's, I bought a dash pad, so I didn't have to look at the scratch I made by placing a PCV pipe on it, that was resting on my sliding rear window, and dash board. I won't ever talk about the scratches that my wife made with her rings around the door openning handles.

Scratches and scuffs around the door entry is why I covered mine with clear PPF and grip tape.
With clear PPF style film you can easily cover the the pillar where the seat belt buckle hits
