Yeah, $1200 is a lot - and then another $250 to ship on top of that. It looks like about $200/sheet fpr the hexply and then whatever cost is sunk into all the routing and closers and stuff. I would love a kit that just has the openings for storage (with no latch hardware) and a blank back...
I'm not mad. I'm just not surprised at the $42k price point you aren't satisfied. For $29k the rattles might be part of the charm.
Apologies for coming off like I was attacking you. As you said, it's your money. Sounds like you would be happier with something a bit more refined, which is...
The only reason the Lariat trim exists is to print money. Who would have dreamt that a $20,000 truck, buil to be as cheap as possible, would then have $22,000 in additional added features, none of which change a single thing about the materials or build quality? You are getting vinyl seats, a...
Those look good! I went with Nokian Ones since the only off road I see is gravel parking lots. Great tires - have had them on a couple cars in the past.
I have a friend who bought a Bambi to tow with her 4Runner. 6 months later she traded the 4Runner in for a Tundra to make towing easier. The 4Runner has a 5000lb capacity, fyi.
I have the Synectic manual retractable. So far it's great for my needs. The canister takes up some space, but otherwise it's great. The tracks are nice to have for mounting racks and the cargo stays dry. I use the bed to store kayak stuff so it's nice to have it lockable.
I ended up going a different route. I ended up with a tonneau cover with t-slots and some crossbars. I mount a Yakima bike holder to that.
I used the seasuckers 4 or 5 times and it worked fine - though I definitely never considered the possibility of it pulling the window seal, that may be a...
Holy cow! That's a heavy kayak! I think mine is 44 lbs. I was able to easily pick it up over my head, but don't feel like doing that each time. The bed loading would be nice, but that much over hang would make me nervous!
Good looking boat! I just picked up a Mocean Scout on Sunday and will be using the Seasucker Monkey Bars to hold it to the roof. I had them for my old F-Type which had an all glass roof. Seems to work well though I am considering a roller on the tailgate to make it easier. I brought it home...
I added washers under the front bolts of the rails in order to lift the front edge of the seat. I think I raised it about 1/2" which made a big difference in comfort for me and cost about $2.25 and 6 minutes. I used 3 of these on each side.
