It's snowing hard, had a out an inch already this morning. I was going to a car part swap meet. None of our roads have been plowed or salted. 24 eb/awd set to "slippery", factory tires with 11k on them. I spun on every corner even at 3 mph. I'm not getting how some in here claim it's so grippy in snow.

There are 3 possibilities:
1. The tires. I don't know how good the factory tires are in snow, and it's also possible that they're thrashed at 11k miles, depending on how they've been driven.
2. There was more black ice under the snow than you realized.
3. You don't say if you have experience driving in snow. If you do, I have no idea what's going on. But if not, know that it is a really different skill. (I learned to drive in snow in a 1976 Ford Courier mini pickup in far northern NY state, and also drove winters in the mid Atlantic (read: icy).) You have to be incredibly gentle. I was taught to pretend there is a raw egg between your foot and each pedal. (In fact, that's basically all slippery mode does: it reprograms the gas pedal and the regen braking to be less sensitive.(ETA:I see you're i an eb, so no regen. But basic point holds.) But more importantly you have to learn do *exactly one* thing at a time: if you are even touching the brakes a little, do NOT steer. If you're on the gas, don't steer (or at least steer gently). If you're steering do NOT touch the brakes. Period. This advice still holds with all the electronic aids in the brakes and transmission.

Have some Michelin Crossclimate²'s mounted, I swear by them for our Mavericks. They handle mud, deep water, and snow well and are designed for great braking in all conditions.

The factory Conti's aren't very good in rain. After the first snow I had your problems as well.
I don't anymore. Went old school.
Bought Goodyear something or other model hardcore snow tires. I put them on towards end of October and take off sometime end of April. My 23 xlt hybrid drives wonderfully stable thru the snow.

I have dedicated snows on 17" steelies for winter time driving. Been doing that for years with the various vehicles I have owned with no notable issues. Matter of fact, with the Maverick, when I hit the brakes in the white stuff...it almost feels like a just dropped an anchor and she comes right to a halt no muss, no fuss.

My truck (FWD hybrid) is basically undrivable in wet, slushy snow with traction control on. It cuts power at the slightest slip, so I can't even accelerate past 3-5mph.

But for grip, you need appropriate snow tires. Or learn how to drive without grip (traction control off), at your own risk.

EDIT: clarified that my issue is in slushy, wet-snow conditions. It drives much better in dry powder snow. In slushy snow, I often turn off traction control to get moving, and then turn it back on for safety.

When I first got my driver's license ages ago, I took the lessons in winter with heavy snow 😆 I'm very used to winter driving. The Mav is fine in heavy rain, but our 2017 fwd fusion feels more planted in the snow. Shame that it seems it's just that the factory tires are shit.

I have the FWD and now with the Blizzaks snow tires I'm doing great but the stock Continentals were NOT. I got some spare (like new) takeoffs that makes it easy to swap.

I thought the Goodyear Territory HTs that came on my 2025 Lariat were trash. While efficiency has taken a big knock the Falken Wildpeak AT Trails in a 235 have made a massive difference in ride quality and traction especially in the snow

I sold original Continental’s and got Blizzacks……made ALL the difference! I’m in the Adirondacks
Sure. I'm on the southern Wisconsin border, visited a friend by Duluth last month. I used to have a customer (a paper mill) in the Adirondacks I'd visit. Nice country.

You must be doing something wrong, no trouble going up icy/snowy driveways with mine. I don’t even have fancy snow tires, just all weather ones. Only ever turned traction control off by mistake when changing drive modes.

Living my Adult life in Texas, never own snow tires, did fine in 1980s big snow 13inches. Even pushed a cop car from a snow bank in my Gremlin. Got our first freeze tonight.

My first car was a 1976 Pacer. Black on red.... ugliest car i've ever owned.
