Non-sliding rear window is cracked? Are you trying to get it fixed and have your car insurer pay for it? If so, Safelite is likely to only replace exactly what you have to meet their arrangement with the insurer. I can't image that Mavs with and without sliders are built any differently. From a production standpoint, that just doesn't make any sense. The slider is worth pursuing. I transport long sticks of baseboard and crown molding by sticking them through the window [I put a block on the seatback so nothing rests on the glass] Plus, the ability to control flow-through ventilation, particularly in the Lariat with the power rear window and sunroof. I hardly use A/C. My 2016 GMC Canyon had a manual slider and I seldom used it because it was inconvenient.
You are correct on the insurance piece. I have to pay the difference in materials between what was in my truck from the factory (non-slider) if I want the slider and they initially said I could. It was about $300 out of pocket for me on the cost difference between the slider and non-slider. It wasn't until I had scheduled the appointment that they called and said I couldn't put the Ford OEM slider glass in my version of the Maverick.

I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome. I have to believe it will work, I just have to find the right shop.

Thanks.

It's a killer that a $155 option is so hard to retrofit after the fact.
Agree, I bought mine from a dealer (not ordered) and the only option I wanted that mine didn't have was that darn $155 option slider.

Thanks Noah. I'll message you directly if I want to come have a look. Really appreciate the offer.
No worries, I know how hard it is to find another Maverick in the Denver area. Especially a '22

If you need to replace your fixed window and want an open option, I saw this in another thread on here. They offer one for the Maverick, $500 and up and I imagine installation.
Was looking for an aftermarket sliding window and found this.

Safelight sucks, they wont replace your windshield if you have a rusty bumper. When I roadtripped a 1980 AMC Eagle with a broken windshield, I was turned down by safelights all across the country.
Because no self-respecting mechanic would want to touch a 1980 AMC Eagle.....

Honestly got the lariat without a care in the back window. Didn't think about it at all. However I love having it. Cracking the window or running the straight vents with air going out the back window is perfect. And for a hybrid does have a slight change in mpg since the no ac doesn't force the engine to run as often.

And my daughter loves it compared to having her side window open. And it helps cool off the hot truck quickly once you get moving.

Devil's advocate but I can kind of understand safelights position. They don't to be left holding the bag if it doesn't fit for some reason.

Would you be willing to pay for the piece of glass or a restocking/return shopping fee if it didn't fit?

Try a local quality shop that installs sunroofs, etc., or as mentioned a body shop.....

Or google ‘truck rear window installation, Denver, Co’

Good luck

Also a killer that Ford makes you get the CP360 on a XL for the slider, but not on the XLT.
I had that explained to me once... It's becuase it's felt the rear slider comprimises visibility of the rear window. So you need to depend on the outside mirrors more. In the XLT, those mirros are powered. In the XL they are not, but the CP360 package adds powered mirros as part of the blind side detection.... with thoe powered mirrors, you can then order the rear slider...

that's how it was explained to me.. I'm not necessarily defending it...

Actually ending up liking CoP360 more than the rear slider. But I was ticked you had to buy both.

XLT has blind spot mirrors standard, so you get a better view next to and behind you. XL just gets basic flat mirrors. The lower level CoPilot360 option package includes BLIS, the blind spot monitoring system with a light on the mirror when something is in your blind spot. Requiring BLIS on XL alongside the slider gives you some insight into your blind spot that you otherwise wouldn't have. So it's either that or it's a way to up-sell...

Blind spot mirror is in the top outside corner, BLIS would just have a little LED light there:

It's an upsell... becuase they could have just offered XLT mirrors as an upgrade, then allowed the rear slider.. instead it cost you $805 to add the rear slider in the XL...

anyway back on topic.... would like to see some photos of the rear of the interior of the XLT cabin with the slider window and without... to see how different the trim pieces are... i certianly can't be anything more than that...

The entire XL trim exists to up-sell you to XLT. It's a marketing trick to make the "middle" option, the one you want to sell the most of, look better than if it were the base option. Advantages include having a lower starting price to catch your attention and create a price floor/anchor in your mind (how many keep referring to Maverick as a "$20k" truck, never mind it was $21.5k to start after destination?). You see that it's only a couple thousand more and look at all those features you get! You'd be a fool not to. Plus, you're not buying the "base" option, don't you deserve better than that? This is the sort of thinking that goes behind designing the trim lineup. You're not supposed to want the base option. That's why they only build ~15% as XLs - to show it's real but they don't make much money on it.

But really all they did was to strip out what many would otherwise have considered to be standard features so they could 1) cut cost, 2) discourage you from actually wanting to buy an XL.

Even a 2012 Focus had powered blind spot mirrors standard, yet a 2022 Maverick requires you to opt for XLT..

Still, they may or may not have had safety concerns when they decided to require BLIS (and LKS) on XL with the rear slider, once they determined that XL would not get the blind spot mirrors.
