Should the spray in bedliner cover everything such as the tie downs and D rings?

I am going to have a spray in bedliner done soon for my new Maverick XLT. I came across a thread about whether things such as the tie downs and D rings in the bed should be sprayed over as well? I know that the shop should plug or tape off the drainage holes when they spray but I hadn't really given any thought about the tie downs, etc until I came across this:

What are you thoughts on this matter?

Honestly tie-downs are not a huge issue, though if you actually use them the liner material is likely to peel or flake off over time.

The d-rings are hinged to lay flat when not in use, I'd be concerned the spray would bind them.

If you ever need to remove either hardware, having to cut and peel the material off to reach the bolt heads will be a PITA. I'd also have concerns that if the shop doesn't take the time to remove all hardware, what other corners they may be cutting.

My 22 that I had my dealer spray did it like that. As long as things work like the D rings then you are good.

I got LineX sprayed a month ago and they removed all that hardware, sprayed, and then reinstalled it, so there is no spray on the hardware.

They didn't plug the previously unused holes for extra tie downs and bed tie down rails, so when I went to install D rings and tie downs there was liner in the holes, but they did need to be tapped anyway.

A decent shop will remove the hardware. For all the practical reasons mentioned above, you should confirm that your vendor will do that, and specifically request it if they normally don't.

Setting off a bedliner bomb in the bed with all that stuff still attached is ridiculously lazy.

A reputable shop will remove the hardware and not spray over it. Just ask the shop you are having the work done and they should be responsive to your concerns. I just looked at mine with the factory SIBL and nothing was sprayed over.

My Line-X SIBL job removed all fittings, plugged every screw hole and then sprayed and re-installed the fittings. Adding more fittings in the empty holes was trivial after that. I'm highly satisfied with the Line-X work. Your job is a screwed-up mess done by somebody who does not know what they're doing.

If they do not remove all the hardware before spraying the bedliner your getting a crappie job. You should find a new vendor.... RUN

When spray in liners first started the companies that did them even pulled the bolts that held the bed to the frame. As time and cost increased, most just started spraying over everthing. That is why I got the one from the factory
