Fill the gap with a flexible black silicone.
should cost about $14 for a tube that would do a half dozen windshields.
Easy peasy.
Might have to peel it out and re-caulk if every three or four years.
When replacing the windshield on the Maverick there is a required replacement Urethane Kit that must be ordered from Ford and installed. Most, if not all, aftermarket glass installers simply ignore that requirement. We had our glass replaced by the dealership's collision center using genuine Ford parts (windshield and the urethane kit). No leaks - installed properly. No silicone should be put in the gap. Would be a mess for the next replacement.

These younguns don’t know shit.

When all the Boomers die out, likely next year.
The Gen X’ers will start to retire in mass .

Ten years later you younguns won’t know how to fix shit.

Just keep chasing those degrees in social science and the arts.
AND GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

Just because I turn "66" tomorrow....
Doesn't mean the end is near..
Even though, that makes ME at the Tail-End of the "Boomer" train..

Isn't 66 the new 55?

Back to the original topic………
I wouldn’t buy anything to fix it.
THAT‘S THE JOB OF THE SHOP WHO “FIXED“ IT!
Bring it back to them. Be politely angry.
This is not a difficult job for professionals.
You should not have to waste your time and money on their screw-up!

Don’t use silicone, it is not compatible with the urethane sealant that is used on that windshield. It would impair the ability of the urethane to adhere properly on the next replacement. (45 years in the auto glass business.)

EXACTLY!
That "repair" looks like a blind chimpanzee performed the glass replacement. The alignment of the windshield is messed up completely. I'm fairly certain the OE glass had plastic alignment tabs glued onto it to prevent this from happening.

The space between the glass and metal on my windshield is probably about an 1/8 of an inch.

The shop that put the new windshield in should certainly correct thier mistake, especially since the windshield "seal" is leaking after their work.

If you can find it or a name - I've sadly caused a beating in prior winter.

I read somewhere in another forum where someone used some type of weather stripping and placed it in the gap. Not sure if it was effective. Would using caulk or something similar cut down on wind noise?
