That is some very nasty rust and I think it would qualify under the corrosion warranty.
If not, you should probably look at a F-150 with an aluminum body.

Corrosion warranty is 5 years/unlimited miles for rust-through perforation. Take it to the dealer and find out if it's covered. It won't cost anything to have them check it out.I will take another pic at lunch so you can see the exact location of the rust. Unfortunately, 44,000 miles on the truck

This can't hurt anything as well. Go to a reputable, independent body shop first. Get a formal written estimate from them, and explicitly ask the shop manager to write down their professional opinion on what caused it and whether it rotted from the inside out.
I'd be surprised if they refuse a warranty claim. You literally have perforation on a 2-year-old vehicle. Claims that get rejected are bubbling or surface rust.Terrific suggestion, before going crazy trying to pull windshield, etc. Thanks!

That's all from living in South Padre? I'm in Victoria, 35 miles inland. I see zero rust here. Whew. Good luckNot sure how to treat this and living on the salt water doesn't help, so looking for a remedy to repair/fix this....

Take that official paperwork straight to the Ford dealership with you. When you have a professional body shop backing you up stating it's a structural failure/perforation issue, the dealer can't just casually brush you off and claim it's a regular old rock chip that caused the damage.
Unfortunately, there have been a few other posts from members having the same issue. One less serious than this post and another one worse. The member with the big bad bubbly spot was having issues with his dealer if I recall correctly.
After reading those threads I put some gorilla tape on that gap. Could cause problems instead of prevent? Anyway, I’m going to peel it off soon. BTW, I used to have tape holding my eyeglasses together. Genuine Nerd…![]()
