I forgot to mention that my Uncle Sam (not the gov, ha), had the AMC Rambler. I still have home video of him arriving in it at my parents house in 1966 or 67. Oh the days, but we forget that most motors barely made it to 100k before a rebuild.

Yes. The infamous Olds 455 Rocket. Very popular in the early 1960s for a reason! Gas was cheap and that 98 was a freaking boat. It barely fit in my parents garage. TBH, he traded the 98 later on for a '66 Chrysler Imperial. I swear that car was even longer.

And the Ford Pinto was a decent car for what it was, except it was a true rust bucket and a crash hazard ( could explode if hit from the rear ).

Very similar to my youth. I Learned to drive on a '67 GMC pickup w 3 on the tree. My dad had an Olds 98 w the rocket motor and my mom had the Olds 88. My first car was a 1969 Pontiac LeMans. Loved that car. Now I love my Maverick!!

I live in a small town in S. Texas. Nothing but Silverados, F-150s, 250s and 3 thru 550's. Very easy to spot my little Maverick. Unless of course it's BEHIND one of those!! 😂

And when I retired my 2000 Silverado last month, I only missed the larger bed and lack of truck payments (and cheaper insurance).
