Rock chips on windshield. Soft glass?

My bug deflector has saved my windshield at least a couple times, saw a grape sized rock get deflected off and just barely clear the trucks roof. It definitely cut down on the amount of bugs hitting my windshield too. Left a mark in the deflector, but I'm sure it would have been a nasty dent in my hood too.

Which bug deflector do you have? The ones I see available do not have much of a "wing" to change the wind. They look more like a chip guard for the hood.

Its just the low profile aeroskin protector, but it definitely makes a night and day difference on bug impacts on the windshield, more then I would have thought.
