Rust on any older Mavericks?

Since they have been around a few winters, is anyone noticing any rust anywhere - body or otherwise? Taking delivery on a 2025 soon, ordered in August and January delivery in the snow belt wasn't my desired delivery date. I plan on some type of protection but was wondering if any problem areas are showing up yet?

I think a good portion of them are aluminum. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the bed sides are the main steel component?

No rust on the outer body...on my 4th winter. Not sure on the under side though...

Yes. All panels are steel except the aluminum hood.

No rust and currently have over 100k miles, since I took delivery October of 2021 and Michigan uses plenty of salt. I do run through the car wash w/underbody blast frequently though.

A member here a while ago commented that he had discovered while doing accident repair that the Mavericks are dipped in a rust preventative of some sort. If this is true, then coupled with a good undercoating properly done these trucks should last a long time. Even a good reasonable time in the rust belt states.

Okay, I was wrong. I thought I read somewhere it was partial aluminum up front, and steel rear. Thanks for the clarification.

I think, maybe, the inner panel of the tailgate is as well. I will have to check that with a magnet.

No rust but debris build up on left side/ bed/ taillight area . get mudflaps that address this issue or buy additional cubby for left side/ driver side and install . Or do both is what I did . I used fordpass points to buy cubby ( $45 at dealership ) .

Don't worry about other people's rust, worry about yours. The day you drive it off the lot, find a local undercoater who uses either Fluid Film, WoolWax or Surface Sheild. Do it again next Spring, then yearly touchups every Fall.

They can't be " old" mavericks since they only came out 3 ago lol. But I typically keep my vehicles 15- 20 years so there's that. No body rust on my 23 yet ( there better not be! ) but undercarriage rust yes. I live in Michigan and the truck sits outside.

I have a 24 XLT Hybrid and my spindles are both rusty solid orange.
