I get the communication issue, but what would they say?

If they give any dates, and miss them, people get mad and claim they lied.

They can only claim they are having shortages and delays, before people complain it's the same "communication message" every time.

Essentially, no matter what they say, a group of will mis-interpret and get mad.

For the most part the media has reported the issues pretty much daily, so what more could Ford say that isn't already out there, that wouldn't be taken in the wrong context.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Like when you plan to go fishing or golfing on Saturday, and you know the wife will give you grief all week about it, so the easiest option is to say nothing until you are loading up the poles or clubs on Saturday morning. :)

Ordering a Maverick is like having a baby. You wait around for 9 months, while your wife groans and complains (your fault) till it finally arrives. :D
The gestation period for a lot of these Mavericks is more like 12 months. Imagine how angry a woman would be in the 4th trimester.

Heh... I shudder to think.

I wonder what the average delivery time is for ordered Mavericks. I'm going to guess its around 9 months. Some folks have gotten theirs in 4-5 months, while others seem to be a much longer wait. Mine was right around 8 months.

Looks like my best case scenario is 11.5 months.

Actually I can sympathize. Glad I'm not carrying it.

Since we are talking about gestation... Has anybody who designs vehicles at Ford not struggled with a Car seat? What is with not even the Lariat having a 60/40 split rear seat and back so that you don't have to yank the car seat out everytime you need to access something out of the super convenient under rear seat storage.. or change a flat tire?

are we really going to go the whole 3 initial years of Maverick production without the abiltiy to access the jack or a tire inflator without yanking out the car seat and leaving junior sitting by the side of the road while we do it?

Aren't they wiser and older than that?
